The Empty Folder is a great idea for startup but it does not help when you are opening folders later on. I find that the Nested route works best in terms of faster load times, plus I like to know where my stuff is.

I am currently running an Nvidia Geforce4 32mb PNP card. It was probably the best investment I made. You will want a card with OpenGL. Poser might not utilize the Video Card but Daz studio does. Games Like Neverwinter Nights also utilize OpenGL so make suer you have that as a standard feature. A good place to compare both cards is www.cnet.com.

This works especially well if the Download is setup to automatically drop the files where they belong. Most of the sites out there require their merchants to set up their files in this manner. Poserworld recently started requiring it, but a lot of their older files need to be manual installed. Their Readme file tells you exactly where to set the files. Try to expand these files in a blank folder somewhere, I personally use the Download folder in you Poser Root Directory.

You can set up your directories however you wish, the only two I don't move are geometries and the Textures.

Would you believe I got more ot my answer from reading through the Poserpros Forums than Tutorial Arcana. Due to my disability, I cannot read through long, technical tutorials. I have to break things up, practice through hands-on, or find a direct answer that is short and sweet... Daz is not the place for someone like me.

There's the difference... I'm looking for advice from people other than those that know me. Not for the popularity contest. I have one friend that will offer me those comments because she is an artist. I saw her hand drawn stuff and it's awesome. Poser gave her another media to work with.

I actually use WinRAR. I aqcuired it after many of the NWN (Neverwinter Nights) files came in that Format. The interface is not that much different from Window Explorer. In the file list, Double click on the File you wish to expand. This will bring you to a window that lists the files within the Zip. Above this window is a button that looks like a File folder names "Extract." You will want to click on this button. Now a new window will popup with a directory List. From here you will chose the directory in which you wish to install things, typically your Poser root directory. Tell it Ok and you are done. Now a little trick with WINRAR is that once you install a file once, the Program saves the last 10 locations you installed to. So if you go to install again, all you have to do is use the pull-down menu to chose your location rather than going through the file list. Let me know if you need further help with this.

To start with, what version of Poser are you using? I run Poser5 with the updates and do not have this problem.

If you have Hair for any of the other Mil Figures, you can go to Netherworks Studio's Site and Download the Hair Conversion Pack until Daz updated their hair models. Comes with very detailed and concise instructions that work with any of their hair kits. Link is available in the freebies.

I don't care if I ever make the top 20. That's not why I do things. I create pictures as part of the role-play I do, or to enhance someone else's game.

I prefer constructive critism or helpful encouragement over the "It's great" post. If an artist friend of mine posts a positive comment, I take that to heart, because I know here and her work. I also know she willl point out any problems she sees in an effort to help me learn.

That is what you should bee looking for.

However, Continuing a thread when it has been closed is wrong too. You have a right to be angry, but breaking TOS is not the way to get that across.

While I don't feel Anti-semitic or anti-american speech is not appropriate, The fact that Twotone is an admin means he need to set an example and not respond in turn. I find it unprofessional in the extreme that an admin takes such a stance. I'm not obsolving the person that led to the comments, but Hate Speech should not be tolerated PERIOD. I was a moderator for another company and a comment such as that would have led to you being removed from the program and loosing your account. Hate speech of any type should be zero tolerance.
