that doesn't sound like a beep. or were you looking for a 'typewriter' sound-like effect?
but a good alternative you could try is hold the mike near a cell phone or regular phone, speakerphone at high volume perhaps...

about visual realism..... is your game engine going to render the terrains in 3D in realtime or are you looking for something to create pre-rendered terrains that will surround your game's 3D scene? or is it a 2D game?
Terrains can be crafted and shaped and thyere saved out to a bunch of formats. Bryce and Carrara both have ways to create terrains, Bryce might have more options to save to various formats.
I have a few basic tutes on Bryce including some terrain related stuff at www.thebest3d.com/pdp/tutorials/bryce101
Can you provide more details about your game's format?
Thread: Text animation - How? | Forum: Animation
Really easy with PD Pro, Project Dogwaffle Professional.
See samples of text & titles
www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/art
You can load a text string into a custom brush and then use the brush keyframer to plan the path and render it for example to move from bottom to top, and also change size, angle and fade in or out...
You can do the same with images that contain prerendered text from other apps if you prefer
PD Pro lets you also load an avi file or image seuqnces into the brush to render over another.

Hallo Tim!
GErmany, Pluto,... what's the difference. They both freeze over in winter and neither is a planet LOL
But Germany is home of some of the best engineering, and it even coined the expression 'now that's solid german engineering'
I shave with a Braun, my Coffeemaker is a Krupps, my second car was a VW Golf....
Here's my starter tutorial on Bryce 5:

Enjoy!

Quote - thx for quick help and welcome
thought it's easier to make own bsk-files.
Introducing: I'm Thomas from Germany - or was it Pluto?? not sure... perhaps both. greetings to all marsians
And Bryce is the only 3d program I understand a little.shame
Got it from my older sister, she told me, it's quick and easy enough for lazy bones Tim... Will see...
When I not bryce around I play with PaintShopPro8.cu

sounds like something for a class action unless they're prepared to pay you fair interest, which is probably higher than their 5%
Just check what the interest is which the irs charges on back taxes.

so what's holding them back, what's wrong? are they waiting for cnn to do a report on their lousy customer service or what?

by-the-way, I sure hope that it was a legitimate request when you had to re-enter all your details, I hope it wasn't one of those emails of spam that try to phish for your information. You never ever never should click on a link included in such emails that ask you to reactivate your account, the only and absolutely positively only method of accessing your account should be by you entering https://www.paypal.com on the browser - and make sure it's secure - use https, not http

that realy sucks man. I'm speechless. I've been happy using my paypal account so far, but i guess not for significant enough amounts. Mostly to occasionally fund another 10 Euros into my Skype account or the occasional $10 to renew the macafee anti-virus definition subscription.
I bet they're so looking for scammers all the time that they overreact when they see any unusually high or unexpected transaction. They probably also want o make sure it's all in line with the irs and homeland security and that crapola nowadays. So much for progress.
on the bright side, your money should be earning 5+ percent interest while it sits there. Well, on the dim side perhaps...

that is also one thing to look out for: there are many codecs (compressions) to choose from in AVI production or Quicktime and some work better at certain resolutions like when images are multiple of 8 pixels in width and height. Others must be multiple of 4. Others don't care. And others again must use certain frame rates, such as 25 fps.
Can yu shed some light on what you tried in the first place? did you save to AVI? Quicktime? and which codec and settings?
Thread: animation | Forum: Bryce
Jumpy can be a problem with the codec used. What format did you save the animation to and which compression codec?
You could try converting it to another codec.
I'd love to see the animation, by-theway, and try converting too. Do you have it as a numbered image sequence? or AVI?
Did you do it on a Mac or PC?
When you slowly scrub through the animation in a movie player like Irfanview do you see any jumping forward or back or anything abnormal indicating there's a rendering problem with camera moves etc or do the frames look just about right in sequence without erratic moves frame to frame?
Note also that some movie players can be configured for full acceleration, but sometimes it's better to try without, or if there's a problem in your graphics card's video driver, or a spyware that steals frames to an IP address it will cause interference like stop and go jumpiness. on and off.
Thread: Printing-question | Forum: Bryce
just resample it to a larger number in pixels and redefine the dpi as needed or keep it aqs is, or don't even worry about it - some intelligent software like freeware Irfanview to on-the-fly dpi matching when you print. It's all about the pixels you have and supply to the printing process anyway, whether you tell it upfront how many dots to cram into each inch (dpi) or whether it resamples it intyernally makes no difference.
However, you might do this trick: instead of one big resampling from 800 to 3300 pixels (e.g. to match 11 inches at 300 dpi) you might see better results buy resampling not in one fell swoop, but instead in several steps, perhaps going up in increments of 10% to 20% or so, That depends a bit on which algorithm is used when resampling, bell, spline, triangle, lanzcos etc... but in general this can help avoid 'pixelation' or rather a blocky appearance of the few (800) pixels being resized to about 4x their size. The resampling helps in making sure that new pixels are produced in-between by interpolation, but a big jump from 800 to 3300 pixels is a big step and might still leave some artifacts. Doing a few small step resamples to eventually reach 3300 pixels may avoid some of that. Irfanview is a must have for this, so much faster than Photoshop.
I use Irfanview anytime I print something because of the last-minute decisions to print a slightly different size than original image dimensions and dpi might have it.

my brother has a cell phone/pda that's I guess one of those new generation pocket pc's with sliding keyboard, as a 'cell phone' it's amazing that he can receive and email containing powerpoint attachments and play them, also video and music files like an ipod plays video etc...
they come with digital camera sensors at 3 mega pixels too. wow.

where is flip it from, how much is it? website?
does it compare to project dogwaffle? (just for the animation part)
Thread: DoggyFX 1.1 - new transitions, fx filter (Warhol effect?) | Forum: Animation
there are many types of animations that can be done however in PD Pro, from drawing frame by frame traditional animations (aka old-school anims) to using filters across the movies and animated brushes to compose more video over video, as well as post work over animations.
www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/art/animations
shows just a few examples
some start from next to nothing, e.g. apply a transformation to a still image to turn it into a movie clip, then add rain or lightning effects for more drama. Others started from Carrara renders or Bryce and more, and again did some magig with filters across the timeline. Then there's also those who know how to draw and create an animated cartoon.
It's a bit different at that than, say, using a 2D animation system which is object oriented with bones and keyframes of the object's transforms and stuff, like Moho or FLash, it's a bit more like Flipbook I guess. But it does go further in the sense that while everything is based on rasters and sprites, you can load a sprite and even an animated sprite or avi or image sequence into the brush and then keyframe the path of the brush across the frames of your animation-to-be.

Quote - o.k., got it. alpha gain fades tracks in-n-out using their alpha channels (masks). that covers all three colour channels, however, in qt pro, which is a cheap video editor I use to do gifanimations. i'll check out pd pro, see if there's an OS X version.
alas there is no OSX version, but it does run on a MacIntel core-2 duo systems with either dual boot (boot camp) or with Parallels in which case you can use other windows CDs to boot into WIndows while MacOS is still running.
