Don't bother if this is D|S forum or Poser, you ask for help and to answer we need some pictures, so nothing wrong with it. ^_^
Yes, pwEffects is not free, but worth the money, I use it in all my renders!
Thread: Polished floor | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Do you want to use it on a prop or do you want to create a polished floor?
Ift you have the prop, use a glossiness ofĀ 70% and add some reflection, about 10%.
If you want to create it google for a wooden floor texture, create a plane apply the texture and apply glossines and reflection.
Thread: Keeping the procedural texture from Poser to Studio | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Poser procedural textures DO not work in D|S! Sadly.
If you realy need this textures for your render, do it in Poser.
Is there a workaround? Depends on your textures, post an example picture.
Thread: WIP: Abandoned room for D|S | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Everything works in D|S, now I have to setup the lights.
Here is a render with D|S default lights, half a dozen distantlights for the ambient lightning, one "lamp"- and one "fire"-pointlight and a spotlight behing the window.
And here is a render with only two Uberpointlights, one basic for the lamp and a "soft torch" for the fire.

Ok, I damaged the blue barrels, changed the specular settings and added a scratch map.
I will import them into D|S tomorrow, I am a bit tired and caught a coldĀ

Work In Progress! ^_^
Just another way to say: This thingy/image/model/... is not finished, still working on it.
Which can be also a way to say: Oh come on, give me some applause and thumbs up to make me carry on. (Which is a nice thing for all kind of creative work, be it finished or not.) ;-D

Just as the gentleman above said (hey Ralph, I am back!) or ask here you'll always find some folks around eager to help!
And don't forget, there are no silly questions, only silly answers! ^_^
Thread: Looking On Info On How To Create A Certain Light Effect | Forum: Vue
That is one of the rare things I don't like in Vue, the lack of parallel lights, one should be at least able to use lights with a tapered cone! sigh
And Bryce has it! double sigh ^_-
Maybe next year?!

Thread: Tutorial on D|S Support? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
For hair there is one shader which works very well: Pendragons Hairshader, you'll find more about it here: forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php
Thread: Tutorial on D|S Support? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I think, I've never seen a tutorial about converting Poser-mats to D|S-mats and the rest of information will be basic since all the settings depend on your textures.
For the shaders have a look over at DAZ in the D|S Freepozitory, there quite a couple of free shaders, again depending on what you are looking for.
Could yoy give a bit more information concerning your textures? Are they skins, for cloths, props?

Try Poseray, it's free and works quite nice but anyway, you need to tweak a bit the surfaces.
You'll find it here:

Another thing to use isĀ Guandalug's DOF camera control script which you will find here: www.nightstone.com/~guandalug/DAZFreebies/scripts.php
Very easy to use and a no-brainer, you'll find other useful scripts there as well.
And my personal favorite, Dreamlight's Camera-pointer over at DAZ, not free, but with a lot of useful functions like over lays for the Rule of Third, near and far DOF-planes in the cameraview to place your point of focal where you want it!
I can't do without it anymore!
