eeeeewwwwwww..... now that problem I don't know about and I have never had the taskbar crash my system so I am a little suprise to hear that. Are you running a tablet/pen along with a mouse ? If so, perhaps there is a conflict there? BabaLouie

I think what the problem is, is that they have their Windows Taskbar options as this : 'always on top' - unchecked 'auto hide ' - checked in this configuration, when Bryce is full screen, you can not see the Win Taskbar nor can the taskbar be raised by dropping the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen. By checking 'always on top' and unchecking 'auto hide', the taskbar has a permanant presence at the bottom of the screen. This way when Bryce is full windowed, the task bar is visible. Also, it the keyboard has a key with the Windows logo on it, that can be struck, and the taskbar and start menu will then appear. Hope this helps, BabaLouie

If I understand this properly, your problem is the windows taskbar at the bottom of your screen... right click on the taskbar, select properties, click 'always on top', ( at least for Win2K ) unclick 'autohide', click 'apply', click 'ok', when you reopen Bryce, the Bryce window will fill down to the Windows taskbar, but not overlap it. I am uncertain if posting such an image is a violation of the TOS, however, I suppost that you do have a 'right' to post the image. I would keep in mind though that 'rights' tend to have 'responsibilities' attached to them, and sometimes risks. You may make a well taken point, but you may also insult someone who is visiting this sight. What they may have to say to others about Renderosity may not be very nice and may cause future problems. A little respect goes a long way. BabaLouie

Fido13... thanks for the answer, not knowing anything about renderers, I had no idea that they were that specific. Khai ... I have TS 5 and PS 7, and to be honest, I could never get past those tiny little icons in TS. Too many and too hard to see, at my age anyway. As for PS, yep, it has plenty of icons as well but I find it much easier to navigate PS because of the size of the icons as well as the fact that everything can be docked. The workflow in PS makes better since to me as well. I just plain could not get the hang of TS, I really wanted to, but just could not manage it. :) If there has been one constant complaint about TS, that I have heard, it is about the interface. I really wish they would change the interface, if they did, I would consider upgrading. As it is now, TS sits on the shelf. :(

I realise a lot of folks can't afford the extra money, but I would pay an additional $100 in a heartbeat in order to get a high-end renderer. Just curious, what type of renderers are used in programs such as Terragen?

Ang25 .... Yep, statistically, scientifically and logically it is impossible for life to not exist elsewhere in the space surrounding us. The cosmos is a huge place and quite frankly, I do not know the mind of God well enough to be able to say with any authority, that we are the only life that God created. For those interested, this link is on the BBC web site. It has some fantastic color images of Mars, taken from above by the European Mars Express. Should someone have a link for the the folks running the EME please post it, I would really like to visit their site. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/3423301.stm Thanks, BabaLouieThread: 3Delight Test Renders Using DAZ Studio ALPHA | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Ynsaen .... well that is rather expensive! I had no idea that it would cost so much. It certainly gives me a better appreciation for a free program such as Terragen and what it can do along the lines of rendering. I had always thought that the cost of the high end programs was because of the tools, interfaces and in some cases the ability to multi-proc. thanks, BabaLouie

By the way, go to the the link that catlin posted and download some of the animations. The rover animation of the launch-to-Mars-landing cycle is very cool. Also plenty of inspiring still photos. The site is well worth the visit. BabaLouie

Vile ... I agree completely with you. I rememember years ago when the U.S. first began sending people into space, we would stand outside at night and look at the sky. Why ? Well, starting several days before any space shot, you would see these strange looking lights up in space, zipping back and forth, making sudden 90 degree turns, disappearing and reappearing. After the launch, these 'visiting lights' would be gone. Sad as it is, I have some very devout Christian friends that faithfully believe that UFO and aliens and even space, are the work of Satan. I hope I live long enough to be able to hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth that will come from the religions when science announces that somebodys God did actually create life somewhere else in this univers. "Why doesn't DAZ (and Poser for that matter) just adopt the use of high end raytrace software like 3dsMax and all the rest are capable of? Is it just too expensive? " Anyone have an idea of the cost to license these highend renderers? I am sure that it is costly but I am just curious. :) BabaLouie
