Ghost posted this male "Rebel Pilot" figure in FS but the picture in FS does not display in my browser. Search on "Pilot"
Thread: What are some good tutorials that a beginner should read (Inside+ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You could start with the Tutorial link to the right-> Cruise the Poser WebRing, and check out Lannie's Poser links: http://www.probe.net/~lannie/index.htm And, because the folks around here are pretty neighborly, it usually works well to find someone's stuff you like and just ask them a specific question about their technique.

Just went to check. If you make a UV template from the women's teeshirt at 2000x2000, the area across the shoulders and down to the waist will then be approximately 1000x1000 pixels. This would be the minimum size for your sample to retain the original resolution, unless you planned to tile the image.

A couple of thoughts. If your original picture to be scanned is 2-1/2 by 3-1/2" printed at 300DPI then you are starting with 750 pixels by 1050 pixels. Kinda small for close-ups in Poser but not too bad. IMHO If you cut&paste the image to align it to the UV template as Foxhollow suggested you can adjust the layout to get maximum use of your texture. I think that will get you a much clearer render. And when aligning it to the template, do not shrink the image to make it fit on the template. Rather, increase the size of the template until your scan just fits across the width of the chest area. This way you will retain the maximum resolution of your scan.

Cheap. Cheap is good. My thanks to the vast unpaid research department. Damn this place is handy.

At the risk of demonstrating my keen lack of observation once again, are these not the Poseable Running Shoes included with P4?

No doubt very popular...but people would still get it confused with the anton model. :) I just picked up, but haven't tried, a TR-map for eyelashes in the Downloads section of Kozaburo's page: http://www.vowel.or.jp/~kozaburo/ Some other nice P4 textures there as well. -floydd

When I DL'd the file, Netscape gave me the warning "unrecognized encoding: x-zip" but it downloaded, unzipped, and loaded into P4 with no other problems. Great collection of work frederic! Thanks for tackling a long standing problem.
Thread: A Technical Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yup, what steve said. At least with version 3, I found that replacing this file with a backup after a fatal lockup & crash would allow Poser to re-start and avoid a complete re-install.

And how about Zorbak? Around for only two weeks and still has a couple of works in the top 50 downloads.

My stuff is still on Geo also. I thought Roy had licked this for us. It seems to work fine now for me. When I click a Geo link I get the notice page first - but the download file screen pops up within a few seconds by itself. I must have missed any notice from Geo to users (who reads that stuff) but it was suggested that, in order to prevent people from avoiding their advertising by directly linking to files meerly stored there, Geo was attempting to require you to hit a html page first and blocking the direct downloads. (but why do the FunStuff menu images show up?) Beats the heck outa me.
Thread: POSER HITS THE BIGTIME! USED IN TV COMMERCIAL! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oops, sorry Coldrake, my mistake, I did indeed misread your comments. Upon re-reading it I see that you never refered to the poser work as cheesy. In the words of Rosanne Rosanadana... "Nevermind"

As the producer of my own fair share of video "cheese" (although not these spots) please remember that the real producer could be one of the gang here so please think twice before casually tossing insults at the work. At least it was "work". Remember that one of the cool things about this forum is that even when nubies post lame work in here, usuallly there is an effort made to find some aspect of the work on which one can make encouraging comments and suggestions. I think I would be somewhat crushed if I got my work in a national informercial only to have the folks that I respect in here call it crap - but of course I'm the insecure sensitive type :} I also saw the weight loss infomercial and thought it was a very effective use of Poser for a client who perhaps had an animation budget under $1000.
Thread: Trans-Mapped Hair Again | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
