Hi
You have a choice as to how you compress the video and the size you will render it but if you want to output high quality video you will have large files. I use AVI Uncompressed for output from Poser at 1920 by 1080 or Full HD.
I use the Preview renderer for animation, and all of the compression and adjustments are done when I output from the editing program keeping the quality as high as possible up until the end of the process.
If you try it you will find that outputting the video in Preview at a large size is much faster then using any of the render engines even if you do it at a very small size. The end result will look better from the Preview mode at 1920 then the Firefly mode at a small enough size to make it practical to render it.
In Preview Mode at Full HD I can output a 3,000 frame clip in about 20 minutes, to render it in Firefly would take more hours then I want to think about.
So in order to make it practical you have to compromise a little and give up some of the options that you would have if you were rendering it as a still image.
The up side is that if you make the preview look the way you want it, then the video will look exactly the same, no surprises.

PS, Here's a link to a 2.5 minute video done in render mode.

Thread: How to play a Poser movie? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi
Can you remake the video and chose to use a different format? Flash is't the best choice.
I create my Poser video in .AVI or WMF format, then edit it in Adobe Premiere Elements.
But both are pretty universal and can be played by Windows Media player or pretty much anything else.
To play a flash movies you can use Flash Movie Player.

Hi
The problem is that I sometimes find that I can't edit it to make corrections immediately after posting, as was the case with the post above where I wanted to change the "my" to "me".
When I posed the post under it asking about why I couldn't edit the first one, the edit came up for it.

Hi
Thanks for the information guys.
I'll try this out, I have an idea about incorporating my character into video game film clips that I want to try out. I also want to try making a first person 3D Stereo video clip.

Hi
I'll just throw in my 2 cents worth. I've used Adobe Premiere Elements for years and it works great, it's reasonably easy to use, can do green screen, many special effects, has multiple video and sound channels etc.
Pretty much nothing that you can't do, to have a professional looking video.
You can use pretty much any format and out put in any format or resolution up to full pro video HD quality.
And it's cheap, under $100.
I'm pretty sure you can get a free trial at Adobe so you can try it out before you commit.

Hi
I don't know if other people are having this, but several times lately when I've received an email saying that there was a response on a post and when clicked on the link, I've ended up at a screen saying "Sorry we can't find this thread in our records."
It happened to my today.
So if you can't find any post like that why did I get a notice?

Strangely my Win10 Updatye notification completely disappeared after a few days, no idea why. Googling suggest maybe because I blocked the Internet Explorer update which previously conflicted with Poser. I have Pro 2014 SR5.2 is it safe now to update IE to see if it fixes my Win10 Upgrade app?
You can upgrade to Windows 10 whenever you want to without the app. Just go to this page and follow the instructions.
Just be sure to select the Upgrade Option.

Thread: Windows 10 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi
I just came back to confirm that it is necessary to install the updates to get Poser to run in Windows 10. When I first answered this question, it had been so long since I had installed it that I had forgotten that I couldn't get it to start until I installed the service releases.
If anyone hasn't installed Smith Micro Download Manager, you should do so, it takes all the hassles out of installing updates and reinstalling Poser it you need to. It remembers your registration number so all you have to do is click on a button.

Thread: How do I direct the Library to to my Runtime folder? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi
Yes I did that, but it still points to someplace that the folder isn't unless I go in and put the correct address in manually. Pretty weird I've never had this happen before and I've had Poser since version 3.

Thread: How do I direct the Library to to my Runtime folder? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi
One last post on this just to let everyone know how weird it is. After getting everything working I placed some new items in the Downloads folder.
They didn't show up in Poser!
So then next thing I did was create a brand new Runtime folder named My Runtime, (I did this in Poser by clicking the new Folder option in the library pallet and direcing it to place it in my Poser folder) and when I looked it was right there in the Poser directory, I figure this has to work.
When I added to it I found that the items still didn't show up in Poser.
Finally I went back to the Library Preferences file, and I see that the folder that I just created is shown as being in a location on Drive C:\ not Drive D:\ in spite of the fact that it just made it on D:.
So I deleted it from the preferences file, and then seeing that the same thing had happened to the Downloads folder (it was shown as being on drive C:), I manually changed the address for it to where it really is in my Poser folder, saved the file, and when I opened Poser back up, everything was correct.
The things I had added to the Downloads folder were shown and it's all back to normal.
I have no idea why it identifies the Runtime folder that I created on my D:\ drive as being on the C:\ drive. But now that I know what's happening I can manage it.
