That is funny! I love the crows stance, how he seems to be wondering about the one in stone. As though he is saying, "Hey buddy, you okay? You're looking kinda gloomy" Great candid shot! :)

I figured things were probably a little busy with yesterday's changes. I will patiently await your answer. Thanx a bunch Michelle, I appreciate it! Shannon :)

It seems I've solved the problem. I had to adjust my screen resolution. I always have it set to 800 x 600. That size worked for viewing pages here at 'Rosity before the changes today. However, after the changes I'm now forced to adjust my settings. Now everything looks so much smaller :(
Actually, I suppose I'm not forced to change my resolution, as I can opt to deal with the top border that requires side scrolling. That way I can still view photos in a larger format :)
Do you know why they had to change it so it couldn't still be viewed at 800 x 600? Sorry if I'm being a pain in the arse, just curious.

That is super! I really like the little swirrling lines of light coming from the flames. The contrast against the deep blue sky has a great impact as well :)

Monika, if you don't mind me asking, what type of camera did you use and what were your settings? You don't seem to have a speck of grain/noise in your photos. How did you achieve that? I tried doing some similar fountain shots in the first week of June but mine were a flop. I think I had left my exposure open too long. Giving me the results of overly saturated colors and a lot of noise. Well, I hope you don't think I'm being too invasive. I know some artists are protective of their techiniques. If I am, feel free to tell me so :) Shannon
Thread: Playing with DOF | Forum: Photography
Playing with DOF! Oh-oh, wonder how Michelle will feel about that? Hope she doesn't mind sharing you with this DOF...lol ;~) Looks like you know what you are doing here, regarding your DOF. This is a great photo, I like the composition and tone. Hmm, this brings back memories for me. Since I've ridden many a fairy between Vacouver Island and the Mainland(BC), when I was younger. Makes me think it is time for another trip to the island. Shannon :)

WoW! All three are magical. I'm picking the first one as my favorite. The second is just as good as the first but the little fountain at the bottom is a tad distracting. Doesn't make the photo bad by any means, it just happen to be what caused me to pick number one, instead of two. Number three is also fabulous. I think all three are very fitting tobe entered! Shannon :)

Looks like a great lens! What a wonderful little forest with all the different hues of green. These are called Horsetail (Equisetum hyemale). The bushy slender stems that radiate out from a main stem look like a horse's tail. Your photo doesn't show the bushy part at the top. Some people think these once grew sixty feet tall, like trees. Horsetails today don't usually grow taller than four feet.

Hey you two, these are both fantastic! Both of you should enter the 'rosity cover contest. I'd be thrilled to see one of our own from the photo gallery win :) Shannon

Here is my opinion of a desirable color scheme, but still incorporating a black background :)

That is a nice example. Michelle gave us a link not too long ago. I, too, have tried it and I'm very pleased with the results. I thought I would add the info I had found just as a different technique to try. I know there are some people here who prefer to do as little postwork as possible to their images. So, I thought with this technique from dpreview, some people may feel more in control. Okay, I'm rambling now.... ;) Shannon

Hey, thanx for the sneak peak, it is looking good. I voted for the cute Lizard, but this one was my second or third choice. Gonna be a nice change :)
