Also the thick nearly impenetrable hide could be considered as an alternative to leather by the fashion industry, and the thickness and density of the skull might interest the military for use as a lightweight but effective armour plating on main battle tanks

Yeah I was being a bit flippant
As someone just pointed out at R'otica a lot of the anti poser league are newly graduated, wedded to the software they use and evangelical in singing it's praises/defending it's borders
They spend a lot of money and time learning then someone with a low end prog comes along and creates an image that puts them to shame and they huff around in a high dudgeon
BTW there's nowt wrong with porn, etc in it's right place
i.e. if you do a bondage pic you post it in the Renderotica galleries, only a complete womble would send it to 3D World
Unfortunately the womble population is breeding out of control

"The fact is, REAL 3D professionals don't turn up their nose at any tool that can be used to get the job done, get the results they need........The thing is, only clueless wannabes who have no idea what real professionalism is feel the need to make the kind of negative and hurtful comments that were made there. " Odds are the ones that bark loudest are the ones most likely to have an illegal version of some high end software residing on their hard drive A little something to bear in mind the next time you see some pointless elitist snobbery

Think it's the Ultimate Ponytail from DAZ You could try Brycetechs braided hair for V3 at 3D Commune Then there's the Lara hair in Renderotica & Animotions freestuff One of these should fit the bill
Thread: Rendering a scene in layers - shadows and raytracing? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Compositing works fine for shadows, but doesn't work if you're using raytraced reflections - delete the foreground figures to render the BG, there's a reflective surface in the BG, the now deleted figures don't get reflected - bit of a bugger Only solution I found was to upgrade to Shade Render qualities better too

Try using a bump or displacement map (depending on version of Poser) to create the details on the face

Clothing wise S3 has the advantage, but the Clothing Converter can help narrow the gap And as has been previously mentioned with S3 you have to buy a new figure plus head & body morph packs, IV can use the V3 morphs you already possess (ie she's cheaper, no I don't mean that in a bad way, minds out of the gutter people)
Thread: Stephanie Petite vs. Ingenue Vicky 3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
IV over S3 any day of the week (probably because IV has an uncanny resemblance to a petite elfin faced ex-girlfriend) Oh and there are flatfoot morphs for IV, they're in one of the shoe sets Jim did (think it's the Stilletoes set, or was it the DayLife set)

Try combining refraction, transparency, reflection amd displacement to create realistic looking water in a pool to kill your render deader than a dodo Here's hoping my newly downloaded shade can do better

Cool, think I'll just pop up the road to WH Smiths and grab a copy, hopefully the new edition of 3D World should be on the shelf as well

The site is regularily attacked by a number of different methods, sometimes SysAdmin has to take the site down for a while to deal with some of them
Thread: Can't reach "the Other Site"... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Working fine Could be a DNS error between you and their servers Or your ISP's screwing things up Remember the whole internets' held together with spit and band-aids

Uh, Sean? This is Renderosity, sacred home of cookie cutter images Originality is an alien concept Just my cynicism baring it's fangs "Yes but, as I mentioned in my first message, firefly is still dog-slow compared to P4. Speed isn't an excuse; it's just another valid reason to not use Firefly. Plus, as Cresent pointed out, you're not really sure what you're going to get with Firefly. Especially when switching settings" Who in their right mind is going to piss around with an obsolete bargain basement scanline renderer, that uses reflection maps only for gods sake, when they can use a REYES renderer with vertex displacement mapping and raytracing 'Firefly is still dog slow' Tried using other 3d software with displacement and raytracing? Unless you've splashed out on one of the high end jobs and the hardware necessary to run them then you're going to spend a lot of time twiddling your thumbs waiting The problem is too many people want pro results whilst only paying hobbyist prices
