Thread: Poser vs. Star Wars Galaxies... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Good point. And thanks for commenting. I wasn't really thinking about the concept of lucas arts or sony probably creating/using their own programs to make swg. Seems with two companies that big they wouldn't need to go to a 3rd party for creating base models of their characters. But it also all boils down to the same polygons and laws of physics that apply to those polygons, regardless of what program is being used. (they did use the dials concept, if i remember correctly, for customising character features, height, wheight, etc. I don't know enough about all the details to really know tho).

i see. But is there a way to do it without using morphs? can magnets be used? i dont really understand how to inject morphs anyway.

no character right now. Its just a question. I've seen tons of renders of elven, daemon, etc, characters with pointed ears and would like to know how to do it. The same goes for fangs in a mouth instead of flattened teeth (say, vampire fangs, for example, that haven't been put in via a 3rd party prog like photoshop).

I'd say he's more of a daemon or daemon-like than an elf, but there's no rule that says elves can't work out too :D

didn't know i was violating anything. at any rate, since my version of poser apparently doesn't have half the stuff everyone else's version has, i'm still using a demo. i have every intention of upgrading to a full version when i can afford it. in the meantime i have more pressing matters like passed due bills and if my car's going to be repo'd next week. sorry i asked about the skel figure. lol.

ok. fair enough. but then why are video stores allowed to rent out movies, or why are libraries allowed to loan cd's, cassettes and in some cases software?

Hey - if you know anything about computers, and have another currently functioning computer on-hand, its POSSIBLE that you can recover the data yourself. Remove the hard drive from your pc and slave it to a working pc. its a slim shot but it might work, and slaving isn't complicated. if it works you'll be able to access the hard drive and remove the files there to another drive, (or better, burn them to cd so they aren't damaged/lost again). I speak from personal experience here when a few years ago my pc was hit by lightening and i had to do the same thing. it destroyed the file system of the drive, not to mention the mother board and processor, but the files themselves were still on the hard drive - a good 90% or more). Anyway, just thought i'd suggest it. its worth a shot. what's to lose?

hmm... well that's an iffy situation. i got this computer 2nd-hand. poser was already on it. along with a lot of other fully functioning programs. i didn't steal it. as an artist myself i don't condone warez. but if you buy a machine that already has programs installed are you suppose to delete all those programs because YOU didn't pay for them? that's illogical.

except that, most of the freebies out there are made for mike and vickie.. (and most of them are mostly for vickie, which kind'a gets my goat, cause most of my characters are male). so that is something to consider. well maybe not most but a large portion of it. then there's other models that other wardrobes/accessories apply to. but i've found very very little content for the basic poser characters. (and i can't seem to get my vickie and mike to work right, which makes me resort to using basic don).

if i had the setup files i'd do that, but someone else installed it on my computer over a year ago. so, no luck there. lol. as soon as i can afford it i will buy my own copy though. this program is addicting. kind'a like playing the sims only better. LOL. nm...

that must be what i have then. except that i use to have judy. or, some female character (not sure if her name was judy). but she's gone now, for some reason. and now other files that require judy say she's not there. (so it has an oops face in place of the thumbnail pic in libraries). i have vickie 3 and mike 3, but no other figures. nope... :( makes me wonder what else i'm missing then...
