Thread: 2d competitions/contests/challenges | Forum: Photoshop
It was written thus: I would like to suggest we start some mini-challenges to the community that depends heavily on 2d software or traditional art creation. Either drawing, photography or a combination. 3d programs CAN be used since that is the core of the site"
OK, I'm interested muchly about this and would like to post some outcomes...BUT.. The "moderator" doesn't appear to be replying to my request for clarification, unless I've missed something. No wonder all these wonderful suggestions never go anywhere! Everything up in the air. Maybe a moderator who has a clearer mind about such things may be required?
Again I ask: Where does one post one's work? Here on this page? Somewhere else? Or is the OP's post just meant to stimulate and warm some hearts? Is it possible for an answer? Please.

Does one post one's pictures right here or elsewhere? Sounds interesting indeed but I have great confusion when navigating this site. Never sure where things like this should be uploaded to...and I'm usually wrong ! Thanks.
Thread: superfly renders? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Been following this thread with great interest. Unfortunately.for me..the renders still look like Poser. Show them to others who immediately recognise them as "Poser." No real difference in outcome than the earlier versions of the last few years. Figures still have those store dummy expressions, poses and textures. I was hoping for a more organic/realistic look or at least some improvement. Hate to be so down on this release and on the "superfly". I was really looking forward to some quantum leap I guess.

Thread: Is Poser Dying? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't come here very often now but this subject is interesting. I've used Poser since version4 and updated to the various new versions.
Looking back at the very very early renders both here and other places, I see very little difference in the outcomes. Very easy to tell a Poser figure/picture both then and now. The figures still have the same look...mostly staring/smiling store dummies. The skin/body textures still look like Poser 4 renders. The expressions and morphs even still look awkward, like stuff from decades ago.
Maybe Poser should "die" and be resurrected again but this time with less plastic and more realism.
But for me, at the moment with this latest version, everything that matters is the same , worse luck.

No rules different than than any religious establishment !
In fact most secular religions would be speaking in tongues and shaking with joy at this.
What the hell has happened to us all over the last few years?
Thread: making art standout against all the other art with the same content? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser renders?
Art?
You must be joking !
99% of the figures look as if they should have a wind-up key in their backs.
They still look like shop store dummies and windup toys but very badly made.
Really bad textures. Materials that would make a true artist vomit.
Backgrounds that look like a kindergarten competition last prize.
To even consider that as "art" shows a pretty low level of appreciation.
Now come on.
Poser is unique for many reasons..but art is certainly not one of them..sadly.

Great work there, atpo.
Looking quite realistic to me...and you have achieved it without any fancy and long winded methods.
Very nice.. Thanks.

Thread: "The native Poser figures are ugly" - er.. no | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hate to have to say it but...all poser characters basically look the same as shop dummies with plasticy skin. I think most folk can easily tell a Poser figure in a picture without too much study!
The "sculpting" of eye shapes and skin colour still leaves one with a yearning for reality which Poser has still to come to terms with.
Thread: Upgrading from Poser 6 to...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As someone who does use the Cloth Room, I don't think there is that much "betterness" in updating. Maybe a bit faster in some calculations because of better coding.
Poser7,8 and 9 do have many other and better options than 6 in other things. But the clothroom remains about the same.
There has been some chat in the MAX Forum about Dynamic stuff and Poser.
