Thread: Can someone please explain POSER WIZARD simply? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks. Mostly I wanted to modify standard clothing by removing or adding vertices and props (or making multiple conforming items one item) and making them one conforming object. I've never had the head for creating conforming clothing (not from the modeling standpoint, just the editing of a CR2), and I though this would help. I guess I'll stay away from it for a little while then. It's kind of funny. Since there is such a high level of piracy, it would almost make sense to have a return policy so that the purchasers who are legit get their money's worth and don't feel cheated. If the stuff is going to be stolen anyway, the only people that ultimately suffer are the ones that do things through proper channels, since they are the only ones who don't get what they paid for. I purchased an Item from Bbay and when it didn't work the way I thought it would i asked for my money back. the item in question was a conforming item that only worked for poses, but was completely unusable for animation since it required constant adjusting. The artist immediately said no problem, and i then bought another of his items that did work. I think that's the way it should be. I say this not just as an end-user but as someone who has been involved with software developemnt from both an artistic and technical end. There's a lot of competition out there, so you have to make concessions. Once you put it out there, accept the fact that your stuff will be pirated - no one is saying make it a free for all, but i do think it should be easier on the people that actually want to pay for stuff. I'll get off my soap box now. The fact is there are a lot of talented people making stuff, and I support them. It's just that this has kept me from buying things I might otherwise have purchased. Heya 6Dprime and Tilandra- BBAY has a satisfaction guaranteed return policy, and I think DAZ does as well. I have purchased a number of products there and had to return one item and they gave me no trouble. And while it's true that once you download it and return it you are on the honor system, that pretty much goes for anything online - but big companies do give you your money back within 30 days. The issue is that you have no way to judge quality in a case like this until you Download it and try it. There have been very few postings about the software other than to describe bad bugs, so I'd like to know more before I get this. And frankly, I don't want to hear from the creator of the software how wonderful it is. I want to hear from people who use it. Thanks.

Cool. How does it compare with the Pro pack's ability to create characters? - I find that if I make a clothing object and then bring it into poser pro and use a similar bones set(like if a modify the body suit, and then bring it into Poser and use the bodysuit bones), it never works quite right as a conforming figure. Does this do a good job of keeping the figure conforming? Also, does anyone know the stores policy on returns? The info on the product is a bit vague, and while I hate the idea of having to return software, I hate the idea of buying something I can't test even more. Thanks. Aharon

Thread: Replacement heads for Millenium Figures! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's true that you can change the look of michael and vickey in a lot of ways, but you are limited the mesh shape - Once you do enough changing of the mesh - the other basic morphs like Phonemes, open mouth, smile, raise eyebrows... etc. start to conflict with the morphs you've made, creating weird creases and faces you don't want. The advantage here would be variety at a cheep cost with even more possibilities for working faces.

Thread: Walking in High Heels | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Here's how to make the walk work in high heels - Whiel the poser figure is in default position, bend the foot 33 degrees (or there about - it depends on the shoe) so that it is standing correctly in the heel. then, while the foot is selected, go to the object menu and select "lock actor." It isn't perfect, but it works pretty well. Also, if you are doing it in Boots, where the foot will not be seen, then here's a fix that works even better. Instead of the foot, bend the Boot's Foot as above. Then lock it in the same way. Make the foot and toes invisable. - now when it walks, the boot and foot will bend, but 33 degrees off, which should look pretty good. Aharon

You should definately email Konan about this. Give him the exact error message. In the past He's gone as far as tailoring the software to a speciffic computer's quirks so it couldn't hurt to let him know.

I figure that the figures will already be connected to the appropriate body via a CR2 file (same as Mike 2 P4 and Vicky 2 P4 characters)- Otherwise getting it to move and stay and morph could be a real hassle. Regardless of how they do it, I think it would sell well.

some of the problems you may experience might be related to open GL. Your best bet is to make sure that you have the lates video drivers FROM THE MAKERS OF YOUR VIDEO CARD - Microsoft gives old drivers with their software, so get them from the actual companies website. It may solve your problem, it may not. Aharon

Poser does get slowed down when you have large libraries - I have 3GB free on my Hard Drive, and it still runs slowly if i have more than 2GB of Library files. FYI - My PC is a P4-512MB RAM with Win 2K.

Hey there- Sorry if it sounds like a commercial. I'm not a writer, and I'm also no salesman. I'm just an animator who really likes the product. And if you can use Poser, than this will be a breeze. It wasn't meant as a sales pitch, but if the word "review" bothers you, then think of it as "a description of how great I think the product is, with a comprehensive list of features I like." ;-) As far as my description of Innuendo goes - I felt it needed to be said, and I stand by it. No matter how wonderful a product, If the support is poor, the product is only good until you have a problem that keeps you from being productive with it. There are a lot of companies out there that you pay big bucks for software and then get little or no help when you need it (can anyone say microsoft or metacreations?). I find that when i have a problem with software I bought, some Tech support reps will do everything to put the ball back in my court so that they don't have to take the time to help me. Every time they ask you: "Well, did you try this?" you have to respond and then wait a day until they write back and say: "Well did you try that?" and then it sarts all over again. I bought my software from innuendo and have been extremely happy with it's performance and the high level of support I got. Ususally Konan's been able to help me within a day, while it's not in realtime, it is pretty close. OK, so maybe it's not a conventional review in that it considers the bigger picture. Regardless, if you think I'm talking out of my rear, DON'T LISTEN TO ME!!!!! Go try it for yourself. Best regards, Aharon
