Hi Esther:
Thank you for your reply.
By full body morph, are you suggesting the creation of a morph target on the morph page?
Regards,
Ron

Am I to assume, by the lack of reponse, that it is not possible to create additional mouth morph dials for the purpose of adding phonemic morphs?

Hello:
You are correct in assuming that the Mp3 encoded files will not work. The required PCM .wav files should be uncompressed and if so, they work without issue.
All of our dialogue (voice-overs) is produced in our in-house recording studio via Nuendo (digital recording suite) and exported as uncompressed PCM .wav files. Various and sundry voice altering hardware and software processing is employed to create the different characters.
That said, I must add that although I really enjoy working with P7 (Mac/Intel 8 core) and anxiously await the release of the much touted Poser Pro, I have not been impressed with Talk Designer. Instead, aside from performing manual lipsynch in either Poser or Maya, we have been using Daz Production's Mimic. If you plan on doing much in the way of lipsynch with Poser you might take a gander at this easy to use, yet sophisticated piece of software which allows for all kinds of phoneme tweaking and outputs a much more realistic lipsynched end-product. The only caveat being that the Mac version requires .aif files rather than .wav but that has not been an issue for us.
As for your original question, regarding the availability of PCM files, our company, Avatar Creations, Inc, a subsidiary of Freefictiononline, Inc, does indeed offer an audio production service. If that is what you are in search of you can send off an e-mail, including the details (i.e. scripted dialogue, gender of character, etc.) to ata@freefictiononline.com.
Cheers

Hi:
What are you trying to accomplish?
Are you looking for dialog to use with "Talk Designer," sound effects or background music?
I assume that you are aware of the fact that PCM files are .wav files which are generally uncompressed and can be quite large.
Thread: Poser 3d "must have" mouse, anyone have 3dconnexion? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello:
I have a question regarding the Space Navigator.
I have just installed the the above device, SE edition, on an Intel/Mac running Poser 7 (latest SR) and have in addition installed the latest Mac driver that was posted for the first time today (10/30/07) on the 3D Connexion web site. The various movement characteristics seem to work as described (i.e. pan, rotate, etc.) , however, I have noticed that the programmable buttons do not. The right button functions outside of Poser when, for example, on the desktop but they do nothing at all from within the program. The macro function does not work either. A call to Tech Support did not reveal a solution. This phenonema was noted with the above described driver as well as the previous 1.3 iteration.
Has anyone else encountered this anomaly?
Thank you in advance.

Thread: Anyone use Final Cut for their poser movies, how to transparent the black BG? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you for the explanation vis-a-vis PNG export, however, why not import the background into the Poser scene and have it rendered as part of the QT movie rather than composite in post?

Hello Skeetshooter:
Yes, I undertand that you can set the duration of each imported frame but I am still not clear on the advantage of exporting the PNG animation files vs a QT export. I am aware that most of the large animation studio work is done with Image File format and can comprehend the advantage of retaining the ability to manipulate each individual frame without the inherent compression that one sees with QT but, then again, one would have to determine if that ability suits their work flow and the destination of their end-product. I would hope that someone with greater expertise in this realm than my own will respond with a cogent explanation.
As for Shake, it is a great piece of software currently available for a reasonable price but there still is the requirement for export and re-import of the composited product. Boris Red 4.1, on the other hand, acts as a Final Cut plugin and does a great job of compositing, rotoscoping, etc, etc.. In addition, it serves as a vehicle for special effects, title creation and so on. Although it is more costly than Shake it is much more than a compositing program. If economics allow, owning both would be a good idea but if I were to buy just one at this time, I would choose Boris and, yes, I do possess both, in addition to After Effects CS3 and Combustion!
Cheers

Hi:
I am a Final Studio 2 user and, yes, you can export from Poser as a QT movie and then import same into the Final Cut timeline. If you render to black from within Poser (for alpha channel)you will need (for superior results) compositing software (i.e. Shake, Boris, Final Effects, Combustion, etc.) to remove the background and insert another for use within the Final Cut timeline.
I have tried exporting as individual PNG files as described above but have found that Final Cut sees each frame within the sequence as a prolonged finite duration that exceeds the original. I suppose that Final Cut is assigning the defafult duration that it uses for all single images (i.e. jpg, tiff, etc.) It is equally assumed that one could nest the frames and adjust the their durations but that adds extra steps to the process. At least at the present time, I have not noticed any advantage, other than the ability to make finer tonal adjustments to individual frames, to exporting as PNG. The render time for the PNG's is slightly shorter but once you add the needed adjustments in Final Cut you're back to square one in terms of work flow and time invested. Now, I must admit that I may be missing something in regards to the advantage of the PNG export and its subsequent import into Final Cut and if so, I would appreciate some enlightenment.

A reply from Poser Tech support revealed that there is a known issue with the hardware Open GL based preview engine and several high end video cards, the NVidia Quadro FX 4500 inlcuded. The solution? They are working on it!
Thread: Background Photos | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello again: Well, your suggestion seems to have done the trick! Switching to software GL for preview mode has eliminated the problem. Thanks again.

Hi: I am using version 7.0.2.132 which I beleive to be the latest release. I am using open GL (hardware) and I will see what happens if I switch to software. It was suggested that I trash the preferences files but doing so did not resolve the issue. Oddly enough, both P6 and P7 on my G5 work properly and the issue that I am experiencing only exists on my 8 core Intel/Mac with 4gig of ram and an NVidia Quadro FX 4500 for which open GL should be a breeze. All of the drivers are the latest available.

Hello again:
I apologize for the numerous posts but I thought that it might be helpful to add one other observation:
Importing a photo into a new window prior to inserting a character does indeed reveal the photo as desired, however, a subsequently inserted character brings with it the previously described gray background and the resultant grid. So, it would seem that the software is not allowing the substitution of the imported photo for the default background.
Thank you once again for any assistance that you may be able to offer.
Thread: Background Photos | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi: Sorry, I was unable to create a screen shot since the grid as described above is only visible when the cursor is placed at or near the scene's character. An attemted screen shot shows only the character and the default gray background. Is there any way to turn off the default gray background or make it transparent?
Thread: Background Photos | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you for the explanation.
I am using an Intel/Mac but, yes, I understand the term screen capture and will attempt to send off a copy of the issue in question.
