Interesting how we create things in our minds based on our life experiences. If you did not say that you saw an angel, I might be more inclined to say it looks like a pixie or a fairy. I believe in Angels before I believe in fairies. Not knowing the size relative to something known I would not guess it an angel, but then again...what size are angels? Isn't imagination fun!!

Hi tv, In response to how I did the shot...no filter was used. The scene was lit from available light coming in through the window from the left of the shoe. Problem was, I knew I needed a long exposure time to record the blur of the shine rag. The window light was partially blocked by black background paper. Then I positioned a silver cloth in front of the shoes that bounced more light into the scene. Direct window light brought more light into the scene, which made the exposure time too short to do the effect. The effect is called "shutter drag." You begin the long exposure by not moving the subject. Once the exposure began I slowly moved the rag from right to left, up and over the shoe to create the blur and still have definition in my fingers. This was my fourth exposure. The first three exposures I was moving my hands too fast and it was too much of a blur. The camera was mounted on a tripod positioned above the shoe which was sitting on a box. The first thing I did was spit-shine the shoe in order to show a few specular highlights in the leather. I used the camera's self-timer to start the exposure so I could get my hands in position to do the shutter drag. Camera: Sony Mavica MVC-CD500 Exposure: Manual mode F7.1 @ 2 seconds Auto focus on ISO = 100

The image was resized to 26% of the original and used the unsharp mask settings of (Radius=1.0) (Strength=30) (Clipping=2) The original was not saved at it's highest capable resolution.

Of all the images I have shot with the Mavica CD500 this is the only shot I have noticed the "purple fringing" around the highlights, (as seen in the upper arched window frame), but then I don't normally shoot into the sun or shoot high contrast scenes.

Can't tell you much abt the cannon system, I use Nikon with TTL dedicated flash when shooting weddings. I purchased the bracket mentioned above and love it to death, best thing for keeping the flash above the film plane to keep the red-eye effect from showing up. I also bought an omnibounce reflector for the front of the flash and keep the camera settings on Auto and TTL and never miss a shot due to underexposure. I also have a battery pack to keep the flash recycling and can get through the entire wedding without worrying abt battery life in the flash. Nothing worse than getting ready for a shot with everyone posed, and the flash does not recycle due to low battery life!
