Which Carrara hairs are not working? I have quite a few, and they all work. However, some require a specific figure (were grown on V4 instead of a cap, for example). There is at least one that does not have show in 3d view checked when it loads. So, if we know which hairs you are referring to, may be able to help. Maybe.

I bought Poser 11 a while back. Haven't used it. I still prefer Carrara's built in modeling room and other features. But I did watch a webinar by the people developing Poser. They had some ambitious plans. If the Poser people succeed I might upgrade again and dive in, but for the moment Poser just takes up room on my hard drive.

I use Genesis and Genesis 2 in Carrara all the time. I use Misty's Genesis 3 Carrara characters in Carrara every once in a while. I use Misty's genesis 8 Carrara characters in Carrara if I don't plan on using any shaping morphs. I use VYusur's new independent figures in Carrara after converting to blended weight. Other props and figures generally work well in Carrara unless they have geografts or instancing. Thank you Misty.

You are counted in. Male pinup James Dean is given as an example in the official notice. 'Since the 1890’s, the Pin-up has been an important part of art history. Do you enjoy creating the iconic Pin-up art made famous by the great Betty Grable, James Dean, and Marilyn Monroe? Submit your best Pin-up art.'

I travel the US by trains, buses, and cars - except with Covid raging, now I don't. I also go to sporting events in these various places.

Welcome back to this thread also! As Dart points out, although Daz hasn't updated Carrara, there are significant improvements from plugins. I mentioned others inthe other thread.

Here is Rex, a figure that uses the changed weightmapping system instituted in Poser sometime after Poser 7 (either in 8 or 9). Rex and Roxy load in Carrara. However, the weightmapping often gets misinterpreted by Carrara. Fenric tried to create a plugin to correct it, but there were problems with how the feet related to the rest of the bone hierarchy. I loaded Rex, conformed the basic default clothes that come with Rex, and then bent the joints for the thighs and the shoulders. The problems of poke through are obvious. The joints themselves are not smoothed properly in the blend zones because Carrara does not interpret the updated weightmapping system. At least that is what I think Fenric said the cause of the problem was.
