Thanks for all of the help. I will try reducing the disc cache. I don't have anything running in the background when I render. The only things that are running are Poser, explorer and systray. I just saw geep's post on eliminating the dancing avi guy and will do that as well. If these things don't work, I may have to break down and install XP although I would rather stick needles in my eyes. Thanks again everyone!
Thread: Runaway Renders | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thats weird!!!!!! I had the same exact problem happen to me last night for the first time. The funny thing is that it intially froze up and wouldn't render the scene at all so I Control-S saved the PZ3. Now every time I open the file it renders over and over again. I got the other symptoms too--after it stops rendering, the first click on anything else sends it off on another rendering spree. I was able to import the PZ3 into Vue4 and render it there so the file is still intact.

Adding to the confusion is the rumour that Daz's next generation high polygon male model is to be called Willie!

Thanks for all the suggestions. The situation was resolved in the best manner possible. I wrote TurboSquid and told them what happened. I got a reply back within hours and later today they sent me the "fixed" files. I assume that they must have converted them to an earlier version of lwo? At any rate, they work beautifully now in Vue. I am very impressed with the customer service at TurboSquid. I also am very impressed with the replies that I received here in the Vue forum. I have had a few questions from time to time and have always gotten excellent responses here. Thanks again!

Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. DeEspona does have a fine collection available on CD but the price is a whopping $495.00!!! Too bad they won't split the CD up so that you can buy just the cars. The BMW convertible is very nice, thanks Virtual Site. Jim Burton, you are absolutely right about the war years, but there were still many cars produced in the 40's just not in great variety.

As a proud owner of dcort's flapper outfit, I can highly recommend it. It is very authentic and detailed with multiple textures and accessories.

PoserWorld has a couple of outfits that should suit your needs. I have a detailed Model A that I downloaded for free....I will check back with the address if I can find it. Ghostofmacbeth is right, Vicki does not require the ProPack.

Thread: The 4.03 Beta Patch...PLEASE READ! | Forum: Vue
I installed the Vue 4.03Beta and lost my ability to save screen renders as did just about everyone else I see. It also did nothing to solve my Nvidea Open GL problems that have occurred since I upgraded my video drivers to 21.81 and then to 21.88. The funny thing is with the old 12.41 drivers from Nvidea, Open GL worked fine with full accelleration but they were unable to run my DVD player and thus had to go. After reading MikeJ's post in this thread, I uninstalled Vue through windows 98 "uninstall programs". I then deleted the Vue folder itself. I ran Norton to find all of the Vue4 registry entries and deleted only the safe ones. I reinstalled Vue4 and the 4.02 upgrade. I did a test render of one of my old saved scenes and was able to save it. Everything seems to be working fine now so this appears to be the way to go-----thanks Mike.

Try upping the focal length of the camera to at least 50mm but preferably 70 to 100mm. It will eliminate the grotesque look of her features.

This is a sad day for me indeed. You have been a great inspiration to me, in fact, it was after seeing renders of your fairies that I decided to buy Poser. My first online purchase was Valentine Hart. After that I either purchased or downloaded from your website every single fairie that I could get my hands on. I used to look forward (like a kid at Christmas) to each month's calendar fairie. I remember writing you an e-mail way back then with a lame newbie question and was pleasantly surprised by your prompt and helpful reply. Thank you for everything!

You can actually import Poser figures into the game? If so, I am buying it! Do you need a third party program to do it? Let me know, this is fascinating to me.
