You know what would really be cool? The holy grail of the poser world...a tank with working tracks in Poser. That would be awesome! There was a thread in the Poser forum awhile back about this, and there are some products in the market place that have movable tracks...but they are not WW2 tanks or even really any sort of tank. One is a tank-bike thing and the other is a space vehicle from some TV show. Anyway a tank with morphing tracks would be too cool. What do you think guys? Do-able? If you could build the model the right way, I'd be interested in figuring out how to make the tracks move (I can't model or texture worth squat but I do know how to program and I also know a bit about poser .cr2 files).Edit: Link to thread attached.

Thread: Announcing THE D-DAY PROJECT | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
I agree with Sandoppe. Please don't see the lack of responses here as lack of interest in the project. I think it's hard to get people to do "theme" releases because everyone likes different themes. Judging by the market place here, some people seem to only use poser for naked victoria renders - there sure are enough of those products... Anyway I was actually working on some WW2 renders/animations and I was specifically looking for a landing boat/D-Day scene and now here it is! I'll definately buy that model and I think you'd have a great theme going at your own store! Please PLEASE don't lose interest! I'm very interested myself and the poser market needs more quality WW2 products. I'd offer to model or texture but in all honesty, I suck at both. That's why I buy poser models :D but I can make renders of your products to promote them if that would help any.

Looks like an awesome project. I was hoping you guys were going to release that assault boat. I'll have to keep an eye on your site...I love WW2 models.
Thread: VUE and particles... smoke, fire, etc | Forum: Vue
The best thing I have seen so far is making a primitive object and assigning it one of the fire or smoke textures, then animating the texture on it. That said, it has been (sorta) confirmed that there will be NO particle generator in Vue Infinite, and Vue 5 regular doesn't have on either. However...Vue Infinite supposidly has better support for python scripts, and maybe some clever developer will develop a sort of particle system using python. It would probably have to be a specific python script for Vue though because Vue will not work with Poser's python scripting. For example, Vue will not import particles made with Megaform, a python particle plugin for poser. It sorta works but Vue will only import the first frame of the particles, even though they work fine in poser. Short answer...use an animated texture and don't hold your breath for a native particle system for Vue.

Well now that we're mentioning merchants.. :) I've been impressed with Stonemason, Kaol, and Winnston1984 here at rendo. They make NICE stuff. Also Kurokuma made some awesome models last year, despite the mess up at Daz... Sixus1 has made a lot of cool stuff. I also bought a lot from Vanishing Point. Seems last year was the year of the indy merchant, but 2004 was also my first poser year so I could be off on that. Just seems every time you turn around someone is opening a new store.

The most interesting use I've seen of HER is Den Tracy's renderings (at poser pros). I think in his renderings she kinda looks like a coffee-house bookworm type. She certainly looks nothing like a monster... Yeah you can morph the #$%* out of V3 but is she free? The base for her alone is $40...
Thread: 2004-hits & misses | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well define "hit." I think HER has been a big hit with the Sixus1 user base. Some people like it, others don't...but that's like any model. Personally I think the Daz GIRL model is ugly...I mean...look at those arms! She's got arms that can swing a battle axe! And then a fashion model waist/abdomen? But...some people like that look...I guess... Anyway, try finding a user that has something good to say about the mil cats...or the mil horse for that matter...
Thread: 2004-hits & misses | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thats funny...I thought HER was one of the best models this year. Finally a chick that isn't cute or just another supermodel...and plenty of accessories for HER too. And can you beat free? BTW Sixus1 didn't model it, it was poserized by them but the original model was made by someone else. Bigcats were bad. Too bad, because I really could have used them but as they are, I couldn't be persuaded to whip out the CC. Hopefully (if) they get an update they will be usable and maybe then I'll buy them.

I think he's the mod of the World Builder forum. Maybe posting in there will get his attention...I've been wondering the same thing.

Thanks for the notice! You guys make great textures. I'll have to get the Dark Mage set before the sale ends...

I gotta ask...is that really how you rappel out of a helicopter? I don't think you grab the rope, but rather it runs through a link on your belt and you hold the rope out to the side. Did you pose these off photographs? The set looks nice though and I was thinking of getting it until I noticed that. I didn't want some military buff saying..."that's not how it's done"...when they look at my renderings.EDIT: Something more like this...

Thread: Gryphon 2 | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Well I for one would like to see some realistic animals. There are already quite a few out there from awesome artists like Noggin and Lyne (vista internet) but that Gryphon is totally awesome, and being a combination of animals, it really shows what you can do! I'd seriously be interested in Sixus1 animals. Daz has a lot of animals but a lot of those are the old zygote animals, and the meshes are pretty blocky by todays standards. Lyne's look nice (excellent textures) but some being based on the zygote animals, they look a little blocky too. What I've really been looking for is a cool wolf model. Lyne's textures for the P4 dog are nice, but the model itself leaves a lot to be desired, especially in the ears. What would be 100x awesome would be a nice wolf model that could be used to transform into your werewolf characters. I don't know what is and isn't possible in poser, and that is asking quite a bit...but man that would be cool. I would be willing to pay a premium for that alone.
Thread: Dystopian News Update. | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Seems both models are already in the Daz store! That was fast...they don't show up if you order the listings newest first though...it only shows up if I order the listings by popularity...maybe it's a mistake?
Thread: Coming soon - Military Environment Creator Set | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Yeah there are plenty of ammo crates and other things like that available for free here and other places, but a matching sandbag would be nice. This set is looking very good! It will be perfect for a render I'm working on. Hope to see it in the store soon!
