Thread: Smart road - prop concept | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh, there is such a thing. It's Jtrout's road kit! I'm not sure where I got it, I think maybe it was a freebie? But it's a nice set of different roads and side-rails that lots of things can be done with. Edited to add: It is in the free section here at renderosity. It's just different roads and side rails though, no cloverleafs or overpasses.

Thread: Don't you get sick of........ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There are an awful lot of nudes out there, but it's because it's so much EASIER to make a naked woman lounging on a blank background (or whatever) than it is to make a realistic, good looking, convincingly clothed piece. In my opinion, the challenge in Poser is to make interesting, somewhat realistic scenes WITH CLOTHES (or at least, without showing too much skin) and to take the items that the Poser community has to offer, and use them in a way that's unexpected or changed enough that the very jaded community won't recognize them. There is only so much lingerie, bondage clothes and retextured MyShirts that you can look at without getting completely bored. I think that if you can look at someone's art and not recognize the figure, or are surprised with the way that figure has been used, then the piece is a success!
Thread: high res/dpi renders | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The contest is managed by MorriganShadow and shylydrya, maxxxmodelz. It's at the bottom of the front page in the contests section. Ending soon. :/ The 3000x5000px rendered all the way to the first 'square' with a foreground figure in it, and then crashed on me. Currently attempting 2010x3350 with the 'important' figure zoomed in. Hopefully that will give me enough to work with, and I can patch in the 'rest' of the sky and background with postwork. Thank you for your advice, SWAMP! I'm currently downloading - will update on how it worked once I get a usable render. -.-
Thread: Texture Problems (Error Message) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I get that same error message every time I try to render in Production quality. (So I always just od my stuff in the one down from Production.) I haven't really messed with any settings for fear of messing everything up - maybe what you did will help me. But where did you find the settings (second screenshot - red arrow) to fix the problem? I don't remember seeing that screen. -.-

Thread: Poser background | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have always just used the paint bucket tool, clicked on the blank background inside the image, and selected a color without any problems. Could this be a bug, or maybe just making it more complicated than it needs to be?
Thread: EUREEKA..! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think we all agree that a tutorial on this would be a wonderful addition. I, at least, am excited about the prospects, but have avoided the magnets window like the plague for lack of useful instructional documentation. Then again, I've also avoided doing renders that involve 'soft' surfaces, because they just don't look REAL. W00t! :D
Thread: Area Render Button (Has anyone "discovered" this great feature? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I find it very handy for spotchecking small lighting and material changes, but for complex scenes, the area render takes almost as long as the full render (on my machine anyway).
Thread: Poser 6 Dynamic Calculation Freeze - Help?! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
nod That'd be sweet. Maybe we can nail down exactly what I'm doing wrong. My e-mail is servelle(at)gmail.com. As far as body parts being inside the cloth, that has for the most part not been a problem. With some poses durign the calculation frames the hip will poke out of the skirt or something, but it always resolves itself. And at the moment I'm working with sleeveless tops and short skirts in poses with the arms above shoulder height, so I'm not getting any of the intertwining-mesh issues. One problem at a time, eh? As an aside, thank you very much for your help! This particular problem is one that I've had since P5, and it's VERY nice to start getting it worked out.
Thread: Poser 6 Dynamic Calculation Freeze - Help?! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I tried selecting as few parts as possible for body collision, and it seems to work well for small bits of cloth. (Like a minisirt or halter top). When I get into situations where I have a knee-length dress or a flowy skirt, etc, I'm back to the same issues. CL actually responded to my service request, and they were just as confused as I am. "I am not sure what the problem could be as have not run across these bugs before. " Just in case anyone else has similar problems, they told me to update my graphics card drivers, delete poser.ini and LibraryPrefs.xml, and hope for a service pack. (What they DID do that I was impressed with, is respond quickly! I woke up this mornign to a tech support e-mail, even though I posted it at like 12:30 AM. impressed)

Thread: what is better poser 5 or 6? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I haven't gotten it yet, but I certainly hope Poser 6 is better than 5! I fell in love with 4, and was terribly disappointed when the bugs in 5(even with service packs) were so many and so extreme that I couldn't use the Cloth or Hair rooms at all. My art has been on hold for a long time, waiting for this. Here's hoping CL got it right this time.
