Hi Yl, laminating a print means to set a cover-layer on top of the print. For sealing the surface the "sandwich" is fixeated in a glue-press and heated to aprox. 80 degree (celsius) with a certain pressure on it.In the same way it can be fixed on a heavier underground (wood or strong paper, even plastic)with a melt-glue layer between the print and the underground. That`s a laminated print. But what i wanted to say is,that it is much ceaper to make real photoprints of your images:just go to the photo- shop (;-))and ask what formats are accepted (tiff, psd, etc). With a resolution of 300 dpi ,you are on the right site. Prizes here in Germany are about 5,99 euro for a 30 by 45 cm print (kodak).Just burn your datas on cd,take it to the shop and see what is happening! Ps:a inkjet print is about 10 euros and not that durable!! cheers rollmops.

Thread: Rendering for a poster | Forum: Vue
Hi klehner, you don't have to render it with a resolution of 2500 dpi!If you want to make a paperprint of it 240-300 dpi (dots per inch)are enough. The size of your images can be defined in the user -defined settings.I don`t know if you're referring to inches or centimeters now,but to get out how many pixels you need you can use programms like photoshop which show you the relations between size and resolution (simply create a new file ).In every case: first define the resolution and then the size. cheers rollmops :-)

Thread: Vue 5 | Forum: Vue
Vue 4.1 is complex enough to start with,if you can handle that ,youre ready for vue 5 ;-).No seriously i agree with Alekssander:the wishlist was released a few months ago,so if they want to realize it ,it would certainly take a few days :-)

Thread: HATE VUE | Forum: Vue
I'm using win 98se with 1024 mb ram now (for playing!). Even win 2000 pro has performance problems in certain configurations with the memory adressing when you get over a certain limit.Win xp home and pro are the newest, but certainly for some applications not the best os'ses (that's why they released their service-pack lately). Perhaps You should try to install Vue in a different partition, could be a problem with the virtual memory used by you os and Vue at the same time (page file sys). :-)

Thread: HATE VUE | Forum: Vue
Maybe, the problem lies more on the side of the system you use :In case of using a pc ,when I upgraded to 1gb ram in my computer I had several problems with win 98 se which wasn't able to adress that ammount correctly.I had no problems with my "paralell" NT.After changing the memory adress settings in the registry it disappered.Win Me some- times has the same difficulties.Perhaps you should check that point (if you're using these systems on a pc,of course) If not maybe get the latest chip-set drivers (especially if you're running an Athlon Xp in combination with DD-rams) Fredi :-)

Thread: White Beach Sand in Vue... argh! | Forum: Vue
Hi,here`s my suggestion:make a foto of a smaller sandy area (max.a square metre or even smaller);the lighting has to be more flat avoiding dark or light zones at the edge of your focused area (the point is to get a seamless tile afterwards).Scan the photo or the negativ and do some postwork on it if nesessary. Then you can use the "real" sand texture instead.Maybe you have to do some experiments with the resolution of your sample, but in your case I think the result will be more satisfying.regards Fredi :-)

Thread: Vue4 Warez copy | Forum: Vue
Well,I think Warez are a large area with losts of "gray" zones.Buying software second hand isnt illegal,at least in germany(some manufacturors-sides even give space to sell their products!).So we should be carefull of blaming se- cond hand buyers and users(!) illegal. On the other hand not every licence-agreement fits in all countries allover the world (Windows XP !!).Most agreements are made for the American market and allmost useless in other countries (I don
t refer to Vue now).Even the definition of what an illegal copy is varies .Some years ago a law was made that called in it`s inner sence even the installation of an application an act of illegal activty!!!.Someone of windows called every computer sold without a windows software illegal. To conclude software-piracy is a bad thing! But to repeat: asking is not illegal!Otherwise we should stop with renderosity at all!
