Thread: Vista with Poser, DAZ Studio, LightWave 9, Cinema 4D ... verdict? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi - My partenr works for MS and I got Vista a few months ago . . . it has been a big problem for me. I did have Open GL issues and had to selevt the other option. It worked then. There have been many issues with Vista in other ways. . . we turned off the Allow feature in the ads you see on TV because it was anoying. I get the "white screen of death" frequently because Vista seems overwhelmed. I am honest when I say it seems slow . . . and the people I know who work at MS have all taken it off their computers because of the processing speed. I reconned you do not do it - yet. I feel like a tester for MS and it is not fun.
Thread: How many versions of Poser are you running? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have been using Pser for a yea and I am not the most computer techie kinda guy. I find it maddening that when IÂ bought "an update" to Poser 7, I ended up with two versions on my computer. What other software does that???
I have Poser 7 and 6. I use Poser six because I spent a long time organizing my library there. . . . I know you can somehow link the Poser 6 library into 7, but have not yet spent the time to do that.
With this hobby, file managment seems to become another full time hobby. I think that is my biggest concern. Fr Poser 8 - I wish everything would be intergrated. Itherwise, this is going to be out of control. Does the future mean we will all have multiple libraries all patched together and multiple versions? That is either lazy programming or bad planning.

I like him. I think the body hair is very good - it is a way of distinguishing so many look-a-like characters. I say go with that even more: Maybe add hair to his legs and arms to make him even more distinctive. Bravo!

Thread: Poser 7 - Is it buggy? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am on Vista and was ready to toss the whole thing because it wold not work. A very smart person told me to change the default OpenGL render option to SreeD (Render settings - Preview). Now it works. So . . . there was a huge Vista bug to a major setting (the open that lets you move about and click on things), but it is resolved easily.Â
It is disappointing that this did not work out of the bix and that many people eed to do exactly what you are doing - ask for help.
Why can't software developers all just get along? Â : )
Now that it works it seems excellent . . . except that all of my wonderfully sorted content is in Poser 6 . . . .Â
Why doesn't Poser just "upgrade" and take my P6 content and import it? That is my biggest disappointment.
Thread: Poser 7 so slow in Vista it is no longer fun . . . . | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Go into your Render Settings, and under the Preview tab turn the Display Engine from OpenGL to SreeD."
FYI - and update: I revcieved this advice and it changed everything for me. The program now works as it use to before Vista.Â
Much of the technical conversation above is over my head. I started this thread, and just this one simple piece of advice was what I needed.Â
There is one remaining inquiry:Â If OpenGL is a key piece of software to make the program work, how come e-Frontier did not work to assure that this was updated and compatible? It seems it would have avoided lots of issues for lots of us - and particularily people like me who are not computer professionals.Â

Thread: The Freak | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
M3, D3 and Freak all can share textures. Most work. I love the Freak and the fact that DAZ made them so interchangable this way. These are the best characters out there. Let's see more for The Freak!
Thread: M3 Morph Problems in P7... please help... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am afraid to load P7 for this very reason. Will DAZ items work in it? I am looking forward to the responses to this question about M3.

Thread: Has the Daz / EF Gap Gotten Bigger? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
kimber89 - good point. Again, I say why not cooperate, expand your market, and sell to both. Wanna make money? Why not expand your audience as we are suggesting instead of diving it into small sections to claim as your own? It is insane. Is anyone from DAZ and ef listening?
