The chat will be nice if the renderostiy team actually make a new theme for it...... looks like just the bare bones install........

Flashchat is a very nice program... well worth the $5 cost of it !!! :) But has a crap load of bugs in it, but for $5 you cant complain !!!.... (i have been using it for over a year now and still can't fix the regularly occuring bugs)

The optical drive could probably be used but the "shadyness" of it (unless you customise the case to hold the drive) isnt really worth possibly electrocuting yourself....  Laptop parts are largely specialist parts and wont work in a desktop unit, So the HDD is the only thing usable....

You could probably sell the battery and powerpack on ebay, someone might want them !

Its easy (but time consuming) to change the morph files to reflect a changed directory..... its just a hell of a lot of editing in notepad :(

I didn't like the face, but the body and lighting is most excellent :D

I downloaded everything.... Poser, DS  versions for both PC and Mac.....

I probably wont need or use the DS and Mac file versions.... But i paid for them so i shall take them... :biggrin:

Think of it this way, websites have to pay for bandwidth, the price of all versions is included in the price you pay for the product, so if you dont download everything then you are in essence giving Daz extra money for nothing.... By downloading everything then you truely are getting what you paid for !!!! :biggrin:

Your laptop most likely has a weak graphics chip in it.... most likely an intel graphics chip or a weak varient of an ATI or Nvidia graphics chip....

You could try updating your display drivers and see if that makes a difference.... but if its an intel graphics chip, theres nothing you can do to make poser 6 preview run smooth.....

I have a geforce 7800GT in my comp and with openGL enabled for the preview accelleration it runs smooth as silk, even with complex scenes with many 3d figures, and full tracking mode enabled ! :biggrin:

I finally came out with a render which im somewhat happy with   Its not perfect, the light kinda ruined the AO of the neck clothing piece, but overall its a vast improvement over my original version of the pic, i could try and perfect the pic but im somewhat sick of the sight of it so i think i will move onto something a bit different  !!! :biggrin:  I get the feeling i will be trying to learn this IBL lighting for quite some time but at least now im getting somewhere....

I checked the RDNA Poser 6 forum, i couldnt find anything much of interest there... Though i just found out how to read the older forum threads (god i hate bondware's forum system... so primitive) so i will read through the archives and see what i can find....

The image map im using is of a blue sky, i tried some others but never really noticed much of a difference....

And i do have raytracing enabled in my render settings....

I did get somewhere though earlier.... I was reading this guide on IBL...

It mentioned Sub surface scattering which i hadnt seen on any other IBL guides so i figured i would give it a shot and got the following...

The lights and scene were pretty much the same yet the differences are VAST....  Im almost tempted to go back to using normal lighting, im starting to get headaches over this.... :glare:

The IBL has ambient occlusion enabled on it !!!

1. Poser 6 allows OpenGL accelleration for the preview windows which helps quite a bit with the laggyness.... Thanks to my geforce 7800GT i can pretty much move about the preview window with full tracking mode enabled with very little laggyness.....  A hell of a lot better than the having to use box tracking when moveing about in poser 5 !
