Thread: Poser 8 advertised! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You said it best Ikendall...... The key functionality of the 64 bit render engine is to allow access to more than 4 GB RAM (3 GB RAM to be technically correct).... I wonder what it would have taken SM to inculde such a feature in P8? (even it it was an "Add on" component)...
It would be interesting to see if Poser Pro 2010 is a spin-off of P8 w/ 64 bit render option..... only time will tell..

LOL.....no issues on trying to maximize profit...... but come on.... this is like a "daylight" robbery!!
Thread: Poser 8 advertised! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
... on a separate subject....
Why SM would not include the 64 bit render engine into P8 is beyond my comprehension! I don't quite understand the rationale for offering two sets of different poser programs (namely P4/P5/..../P7/P8 and Poser Pro). Why not have all standard and so called "pro" features included in one version only?... I can only think of one reason and that is GREED! ..... there I said it....

good point... I didn't even consider the possibility of having both poser pro and P8 on my pc!!

BB,
Right now I am using Poser Pro simply because its 64 bit rendering engine allows access to over 4 GB RAM ( I typically need over 5 GB RAM to render my images)......Should I therefore hold back until Poser PRro II (?) is released (given that 64 bit render engine is a must for me)?
Thanks again for your advice...

Could one of you guys advise whether or not the render engine for P8 is still 64 bit? I think it is but just want to make sure.... :c)

I think you might agree that going through all 45 pages to get the info. one needs is neither efficient nor worth the hasstle....
If you don't want to share the release date, that is your prerogative....no skin off my nose...
incidently, your statments like "acted like adults" serves no purpose....

**manoloz,
I hear you, but don't undersand what the big deal is with the secrecy of the release date! I see this as more of a "teaser" and something along the lines of "I know the date and you don't" attitude....
speaking from my end, I am done for now... would just check w/ google from time to time until I see the program for sale....
cheero...

We have 45 pages of messages (mostly on Poser 8) but no-one has yet to post the actual release date... unless of course I missed the note!
I would have thought that a few of the individuals who did work on the program might know the answer..... so what do you say guys? lets cut to the chase and let un know the release date... >;c)

It looks like editing the cr2 file does the trick..... Unfortunately, it seems to be character specific... Would you (or perhpas one of the forrum members) happen to have such a pz2 file that unhides trans dials...?
Thanks for your help...

**A while back, lesbentley developed this cool pose file that would unhide scale dials for V4.... Would you happen to know if there is a simialr code that would unhide "Trans x, Trans y and Trans z" dials? when I select the V4 Eyes (e.g. reye)... I don't see the Trans. dials...
Thanks for your help...
Cheers
