HI,

Today for some reason (that I cannot figure out!!) I have been unable to save "worked on" props to the relevant runtime directories.... Every time I try to save the prop I get the following message...

error.jpg

I have similar issue when attempting to save "Worked on" figures too.... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Thank you

No content allowed in program files folder when UAC is active. Many questions may follow but that's the rule. If you were getting away with this before, your system was misconfigured.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Thank you BB.... I switch off UAC, but that did not seem to have resolved the issue. Can you please provide some advice as to have to save figures/props within the program.

Thanks again for quick response...

Hm. Is Your main content really there? You may not grasp what I am asking. Using explorer convince yourself that the indicated path exists. It does not in my installation. The real content runtime is in my documents folder. The runtime in the program folder isn't meant for content and if you install with default options it is a truncated folder tree. It is there to hold key bits of the executable.

When you installed, did you override the runtime location and force it into program files?

Also, unhelpfully, I think storing user content in the standard runtime is a super bad choice. It utterly complicates backups, restores, reinstalls, and future use with Poser 11 then 12 then 13 etc.

Online Now!

Maybe it's a permissions thing. Try running a admin (if this is a PC)

BB..

The path does exist and when I reinstall the Poser pro (64 bit version) its default is "program files " subdirectory.... no overriding of exe. flies on my part....The "Add" option was working fine for a long time... up until today! Re-installation has not helped either!

Thanks anyway...

When you reinstall the default is to use what you used when you first installed. Running the installer a second time does not demonstrate that you did not override the initial factory default choose. Quite the opposite.

Since you disabled UAC and the folder is there, I cannot fathom how you cannot save to that folder.. Perhaps it is a permission setting on the operating system level.

Try ghostship's suggestion to run as administrator.

First, don't install Poser's included content -nor your own stuff-to the program files runtime.

Second, let the Poser installer place the included content in its default location within shared/public documents.

Third, don't save your own stuff in Poser's shared docs runtime; instead use the downloads\runtime folder provided in shared docs.

Fourth, don't disable User Account Control unless you are a geek and can compensate for the loss of malware protection.

That said, look in that folder you specified and see if the missing files are actually there. If not, look in C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\VirtualStore and see if there is a SmithMicroPoser folder, and if so, look inside for your missing stuff. If it's there, you cut/paste it into the runtime where Poser is looking for it.

I suspect it is to do with the OS... Figures and props savings works just fine with the 32 bit version of the program..... I will re-install it as you all have suggested, and let you know if I have success...

Thank you

ok... reinstalled the program as per your advice and the 64 bit version is working as before... though somewhat slower "figure/pro" save....

Thank you all for all your expert advice.... much appreciated.... :c))
