Thread: Painting template to create new object mats {part II} | Forum: Bryce
OMG!
There's a Photoshop forum here too?
http://market.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2644026
There was a time the link to the other thread would have been included so we could all play along.
I tell you, this community is crumbling around us. I like that. That's my new sctick, I'm going to make a doomsday sig now....
Thread: POLL: What would you want from a chatroom? | Forum: Bryce
and ditto the not-web-page-based thing phil said. If I can't be doing 3 things at once, I may as well be watching tv.

I would like for you to be available whenever I have something vitally important to tell you. It's like we're at a party and everytime I have something to say, you're right there. But I have to tape a note to you because you're passed out drunk on the floor.
Thread: The end for Bryce? (tin-foil hat alert!) | Forum: Bryce
Rayraz, to be fair. I got Bryce5.5 for $14. And alot of people got it for under $50.
But at this point I find I need to bow out of the conversation.
Enjoy.

Cararra 5 is $550 from Eovia's site.
Hexagon2 is $200
Bryce 5.5 is $100
So yeah, there would still be a need.

Yeah Zhann, I thought you had them too but couldn't find them there either.
SilverChains, yeah. if you emailed me or Zhann we could email you the blank presets. I was about to type that you could IM me and I'd get them to you, when it occured to me I'm only pretty sure I still have blank ones, then I realized I could reintall them and then it was easier to tell you how to reinstall them.
Man, I'm talkative tonight.

You could. And then light that with a lightdome and LDRI. But now it's supposed to lok like a picture and it looks like a picture. If you made it relief, then it wouldn't look like a picture and I think you'd lose the impact. If it were a bias-relief, then it's need a setting and wouldn't be able to stand out on it's own.
Does that make sense?
Thread: downloads | Forum: Bryce
Assuming you got Bryce 5.5, you should have a Bryce:Content folder. Typically this is where you would unzip or otherwise install any Bryce content files.
Any Bryce native format files will then need to be istalled withing Bryce. To do this open the appropriate library and click on import. After you've imported the object into Bryce, as long as you've backed up the zip or installer, you no longer need the file in content. Bryce reads it and adds it to the appropriate library file in the Bryce:Presets folder.
You can rearrange and create your own folder stucture for Bryce objects, materials and textures. Basically, create the new folder in the appropriate Presets folder and copy in a blank user file. You can rename the user file to something meaningful and then Bryce will recognise it.
You need to copy and rename the user files BEFORE you import any thing into them. There is a Bug in Bryce that DAZ did not fix, where when you delete something from the library, only the thumbnail gets deleted, the file stays the same size. If you need blank files, I thought I knew where you could d/l them, but I can't find them now. If you need them, rename any you've added to and reinstall Bryce. Or just install Bryce somewhere else and copy them over.
Also, I think this might be explained better in the FAQ, the link is right below AgentSmith and Zhann's names up top of the page. (If this isn't in there it should be.)
Thread: Bryce 5.5 and render intensive scenes. | Forum: Bryce
I've run into this fairly often, although 15-20 minutes is longer than your scene justifies. As far as I remember I had this issue with B5 as well though.
It seems to me that it takes some time for Bryce to realize you want it's attention, then it wants to finish the math it's on, then it's got to move the info it's useing, then it has to reallocate the ram. That all takes some time.
At the same time though, when I've not been at the computer for awhile, whether Bryce is running or not, swithching from the app that's up to another in the taskbar takes longer than it should too. Maybe windows memory management is partly to blame.
Course I've had a scene open for 3 days now with 50 V3's in it. also at least two IE's and mIRC and usually PSP open the whole time. And poser jacked up the memory, it doesn't free up memory right or something, I always have less available after running Poser. And I haven't rebooted in the two weeks or so since the IE update made me. Hm, I should do that now actually.

Thread: Free Sample Textures | Forum: Bryce
Electroglyph said: "I was browsing a site by XYZRGB and found some sample images."
For some reason the XYZRGB caused my brain to include the word "color" in that sentence. I swear I had to read it twice to figure out why anyone would need color sample images."
Not like the little chits you get at the paint counter, just colors.
I've been in the sun all day.
Oh, and thanks.
Thread: Pixologic User Group Meeting Re-Cap! | Forum: Bryce
Move this one, you're taking me with you!
You know it's a rowdy forum when the mod has to move his own posts.
oh, and thanks for the re-cap.
