Will try that out - have looked at the site. Have had difficulty accessing Renderosity site for the past couple of hours - as you see things seem to be OK now! ;-)

I've actually removed the unneeded library entries, and removed geometries and textures. (I made copy of Runtime before doing this - it's in My Documents), and Poser does seem to be running better just now ;-)

Just a thought - if I remove items from the Poser libraries, will this remove Geometries and Textures too, or will I have to do this manually?

thanx every1 - just looking for a way to "bypass" the stuff I hardly touch at all - such as the Poser 4/PP models etc - seems silly to have them just sitting there and slowing things down. Will just copy them to a "spare" runtime folder and store them for any future use. I had thought of this in the first place but wasn't sure if it was feasible.

thanx, I do understand - poser's just taking ages to load anything at the moment. Thought there'd be a getaround to bypass some stuff I don't use much but don't want to do away with completely

thank you so much - I've just done it - can't believe it's so simple! This forum has been such a help to me - I wouldn't have had a clue otherwise.

never done that before - is it just a case of straightforward renaming (changing the suffix) or is there something else to be done? It sounds much too simple for Poser ;-)

I'm new to Poser and, I should say, like many others here, are still in a very deep learning curve. I admit I use "stock" stuff, because I don't yet know how to make my own - with practice that will come. However, we all have to start somewhere, and by posting to the gallery we can get an evaluation of our work so far and act on any advice given. Just by reading forum threads here I've learned quite a lot in the 6 weeks I've had Poser. Also, not everyone can afford all the bells and whistles from the various site stores - thank goodness for freebies! But then that's another thread ...............
