 Hi
For what it is worth I'm running Poser 6 in Windows 7 64 bit and it runs a lot better then it did in XP on my old computer, where it froze all the time. Â I was worried about switching to 64 bit but everything works fine.
Of course this is a lot faster computer then my old one (Quad i7 2.93 processor, 8 Gigs of Ram, latest super fast video card etc.) but it seems more stable not less then it was in Windows XP.
I'n not suggesting that you  go to Windows 7 on a computer with no internet though.
I'm not sure it would even work it is so integrated into the web, updates etc are part of the whole thing now.

Thread: A couple of question about Poser 6 and Windows 7? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
 Hi
I gave up on trying to get he .ocx file to work.
I asked on the Windows 7 forum as well and after many efforts I decided it wasn't worth the effort.
At least it does create the animations and they run fine and import into Adobe Premiere with no problems.

 Hi
My computer is a brand new Windows 7 64 bit machine.
Poser and everything else run great except Adobe InDesign. Â
I had to ungrade to Indesign CS4 to get it to run.
I'll try registering the .ocx file tomorrow.

 HiÂ
I had already downloaded the OCX file but I couldn't fine anyplace that said what to do with it.
I'll give a try at just putting it into the Systrem 32 folder and see what happens.
I downloaded the unzip utility suggested and that did the trick, I have my templates all made
Â
Thanks for the help.

 Hi Adom
Thanks for the reply.
I found those files with the OBZ extensions.
Which poses (no put intended) a new question, UVMapper doesn't see those files as .OBj files so it won't open them.
Anyone have any ideas.

Thanks for the help everyone!
I still haven’t decided whether to do it or not, I have had P3, P4, and P5.
I originally used Poser only to create characters that I inserted in to architectural illustrations, restaurant interiors etc. I create the figures then use effects in Photoshop to make them match the appearance of the illustration I'm inserting them into, i.e. watercolor etc. Then I scan in the art and insert the people in Photoshop and print out or place the art in a video presentation.
This saved a lot of time as the interior was the thing that was the focus of the drawing, but having a lot of people in it made it appear more user friendly.
More recently I have started working with the animation aspects of the program for use in PowerPoint and video presentations. It's amazing how having some movement in the art ads to the impact.
Right now I'm working on creating an animated mummy for a short video on Egyptian Art for kids.  Nothing complicated he will point at things on the screen etc.
Compression isn’t a big factor, I have 600 gigs of hard drive space, and everything gets transferred to DVD once it is done.
I may just wait and see what Poser 7 has to offer since the changes don't seem to be major.
 Thanks again for the info.

I've used the first suggestion and it works fine. This is the easy way to have a character pick up or set down an object as well. Mike
