Better stil why don't we get Daz to find your stuff. Its not ideal and once the folders are located and moved you can delete the old paths anyway. Do this, open Daz and just the two moves required then click "Do search" make sure all the drives are ticked then just wait Daz will find every file it can read on your computer and external drive. Hopefully they will be in folders we can work through to retrieve and place in right location Step one click on the 4 bars with arrow you see at top of this open box near content folder
Step two Make sure drives are selected the hit the "do search" button go have coffee. Once it has finished click the windows logo + print screen on your keyboard so you get screen shot for reference You could click accept and all your content would be available to use but might be a bit of a dogs breakfast but can be deleted

Well before you go to that extent in Windows 10 click the magnify glass icon (bottom left) and type in the bottom box. Directly above that you will see two icons one on left says 'My Stuff" one on right says "Web" click on the 'My Stuff" a second window opens larger That will limit the search to the hard drives/external hard drives on your computer. If you don't click one of the two it will try to bring up Web and your stuff. If you were to reinstall Daz look on the bright side it won't delete your content bought in from outside of Daz or the store for that matter because it is not in the correct folder for the installer to do so in the first place.

If you are refering to the surfaces ie skin/materials they can be adjusted via the surface tab. If you are refering to the supplied shaders library both Daz originals and Iray then they can be found in your content library.
The layout can be a little different depending on your option set but there is a node based editor similar to Poser. Click on the windows tab to choose options you wish to see as tabs
Materials/textures that come with products both default and additional options appear usually in the same folder as the product in your Smart/Content Libraries along side their wardrobe/prop files. Addons for certain wardobe/props under their own pack name. Layout is a little different but it is similar to Poser in general concept.

@MikeMoss yeah tell someone who cares LOL LOL. Welcome to the Daz forum, there are some members on here that give answers regularly and what they don't know about Daz ain't worth knowing. My knowledge is born out of sufferance but I am happy to share my pain.

Hi MikeMoss if you have the mini preview port or the main display area set to IRay while you are setting up that will give the result you describe change it to another preview style and see if that helps. Sounds like it is calculating the render on ever move you make

Hi Goofy it is going to be specific to what you have in your Daz 3D folder various programs I have Bryce too but it is in another folder all on it's own. Why didn't Daz put my Bryce folder all neat and tidy in there too with the rest of it? Because that would be logical. So the "Studio" is in your regular Daz folder in Documents if you were to dbl click on that you would see "My Library" that is the folder I choose to unzip unzip my downloads from other sites which are then found in the - Contents Library as opposed to the Smart Contents.
So I think the My Daz 3D Library is rather important considering it houses nearly all of your Daz onsite purchases and if you are not seeing it as in pic 1 then your content really is missing :-)
If you open explorer and copy/paste from here or type this in exactly without the quotes " My Daz 3D Library " in search and wait a few minutes you should be shown the whole folder. If it comes up then right click copy entire folder and paste it in the location of the first pic which is C:/Users/Public/PublicDocuments so it looks same as pic 1 Then open your Daz and take a peek.

Thread: Does Windows 10 cause any problems with DazStudio PRO 4.8 or The DAZ Store? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
No Philywebrider. I am running Win 10 Daz 4.8 everything works including all the plugins that developers have spent the time keeping updated If you have a Nvidia Card make sure your update drivers. Most branded computers will have had a lot of the updates to be ready for a Win 10 upgrade, custom configured computers depends on how it was set up The really good news is your content seems to stay where it should LOL. Personally I think the Microsoft did their homework on Win 10 and got as much as they possibly could right. I have only had one program on the computer fail me regardless of age and that was a product the developer has abandoned so he cut the server to be able to register it.
PS if you decide to upgrade ensure you remove all external USB hard drives and leave only the keyboard/mouse and obviously internet connection or you might get hung on the boot screen

I don't get it either with me it started at Win 7 running Spyhunter and ends with Win 10 I can press the button all I like on the site my installer will not open in fact most of the time I don't click any button they will show up as available. Double click this as in pic on your desktop or program list (Win7). At most you will have to sign in. Tell it to remember you. Then you cant miss what to do it is very straight forward

@jestmart It is getting rarer for the install manager to open from the site even the Windows basic security knocks it out. I even went in and added it as exception got turn off again I run Malwarebytes too and that even blocks Skype calls LOL. I just open it from the icon on the DT.

If you are signed in it will do it auto. just double click on the Install manager icon on your desktop. then you should be signed in. If not put your email and Daz password on the DIM splash screen. Clicking the green button on the website does not start your installer :-)

A few posts up you put a pic of the page for your content. If this is the green and white button you are refering to then don't expect it to open up to offer you a file or install from there. It indicates to your DIM and you can install it from the DIM itself when you are ready. The blue button to left of the download & install will give your the files but you would need to unzip and manual install (Not recommended unless no choice.) If you did a full install of both then you only will need to open the Install manager and Click on the "ready to download" tab. If there are products there then just check the one box in the blue bar it will select everything available to download. At bottom left check the "Install after download" box the click Start Queue. It should start to download and install your products

Well goofy that is good news. You may run into a few difficulties when loading certain products (Pop ups saying it can't locate the "file name" usually .jpg extention.) Main thing is that you had not deleted all your content and as you know that would be a massive download. I wouldn't mind using the DIM to set right my entire library from that particular store but I would have no chance retracing my footsteps from all the other sites. There would not be enough hours in the day...or month
this one here sounds about right ( userspublicpublic documents daz 3d) if on C: unless you wanted it elsewhere LOL. If you were to follow instructions above and point your DIM to that then you would be really getting somewhere.
C:/Users/Public/PublicDocuments/Daz 3D This one here is where Daz unzips your purchases and updates from the store. This will not be your data from Rendo or any other site but very good start IMO as if you moved the folder then chances are it is all lurking around that general area.
Where you located this there should be one more folder further down C:/Users/Public/PublicDocuments/Daz 3D - Install manager handles this
C:/Users/Public/PublicDocuments/My Daz 3D Library - This is where a lot of your store stuff gets installed to again DIM handles this for the majority
Sometime Daz help or a manual download from Daz site you will be instructed to unzip into the top one. morphs etc are vital to go there
C:UsersComputerNameDocumentsDAZ 3DStudioMy Library - This is your playground. When you buy something outside of Daz you unzip it here.
if you can get it set now that you have noted finding two of these already to all be in order you will be back to rendering by christmas :-)
First pic shows the two folders in C>User I highlighted the one you have not mentioned
The second pic this folder should be easily located in you regular 'Documents" folder from your desktop this is as described above Goofy's playground.
Excellent progress just the same.
