This might be ... http://designshack.net/articles/graphics/a-complete-beginners-guide-to-masking-in-photoshop/
what you want to do to add your grand kids is to turn the layer they are not on into 2 or more layers, so you can sandwich them (The GK) between the foreground (the favorite star) and the background.
Good Luck!

HI Sweetie!!
Poser uses IE (because it knows it will be present on every windows machine!)
launch IE, Search for Adobe Flash download
I tried to get you the link, but it talked to my system and tailored the link to my OS, which may or may not help you!

Guessing, here....
Is Flash installed to IE?
have you rebooted since flash was installed? it wouldn't matter to the browser, but something might need to be written somewhere for Poser to find it.....
Good Luck!!

Thread: Mixing Poser and Studio content | Forum: DAZ|Studio
You only have to install it once.
DAZ Studio can be pointed to any Poser runtime and the poser Content can be used pretty seamlessly in DS. You only have to isntall it
To do this, open DS
Go to the Content library. Choose POSER Format. Right click ON Poser Format and choose Add a runtime directory. Once that's done, click that directory and all the poser content will be available to you. The Majority of it will work just fine.
To go the other way, if the DS Product is in runtime format with a Geometry folder and the standard Poser runtime, it will probably work in Poser. IF the Product has a data folder, AND it's not G3F, you'll have to use a progarm from DAZ called DSON. This works best with Poser Pro 2014 and will only help if the vendor included the CF (compatibility format) files. DSON is a Python scrpt that is sometimes free. You will need to install it to your Main Poser install and then Map your DS "MY Library" folder as a poser runtime.

Thread: Game Dev- can anyone explain Brian Haberlin's technique for B&W art? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Hello
Reversing the normals can sometimes make the figure appear black. Or the figure can an also be colored black in the material room. Either or both of these can be pretty time consuming, if the model has lots of material zones and/or groups.
have you tried scaling the figure up by one or two percent? from the little information you have provided, I'm assuming the upscale is very small. You can double click on the scale parameter and enter a value.
Good Luck

Thread: A Swinging question | Forum: New Poser Users Help
I moved the red one to the opposite edge because that's where the movement stops. I didn't tell him to turn Bend off, which I maybe should have.

Open the Joint editor.
Window > Joint editor or Control Shift J
Using the Defalut screen,
Move the Green side of the plus to side of the door you want the hing on. Drag the Red Plus to the other edge. I.e. if the hing is on the left, the green plus would be on the Vertical Center of the left edge of the door and the Red Plus would be on the Vertical center of the Right edge. Use your Right/left/top/bottom/front back Cameras to properly position the Pluses. you may need to move the pluses back into the door so the door doesn't collide with the door frame.
You may hit the align button at any time. it the pluses become NON upright.. if they tip or turn, you won't be happy with the movement. You can move the Dial that you want to control the opening at any time, but Please remember to zero it before you tweak the pluses again, or you won't like the movement.
Keep after it. it's tedious, not hard!
Good luck!

Thread: Makin characters? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
The Z-brush sculpt is loaded as a morph, rather than converted to dials Generally there is one dial to turn the head morph on or off.... Some vendors refine the sculpt with dial changes.

The faces are generally z-Brush, with the bodies being spun dials (so that super conforming clothing can work!)

Thread: New to Poser 10 | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Poser's face room was designed just for that purpose. the only catch is you have to use one of the poser folks who are shipped with
Poser. There's limited support for clothing for these poor boys. (I'm assuming Dave22 is a guy!!)
here's an nice tutorial on the process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWQBW5dsKCA
