Here is a link to tutorial that helped me understand Poser file folder structure. http://www.morphography.uk.vu/fileguide_1.html
Thread: M3 to 2 and Morphs | Forum: DAZ|Studio
In Pose folder there should be a a MAT folder with the name something like !MAT M3. In this folder there are 2 MAT files, one to set M3 back to his default colors and one to set him to all white.

The M3 to M2 option is an alernate .cr2 file that adds and applies a full body morph to the M3 obj mesh. The morph makes M3's body like the old M2 body. But since its still using the M3 .obj mesh it has to use M3 textures.

I was confused by all the different package available at there site also. The lack of forum activity is another concern. I have seen some pretty impressive characters in the freebie section made by Blacksmith though. You could make the morphs in Blender or Wings but you need an .obj importer and exporter that won't change the order of the vertices. Thats why I suggested Blacksmith first.
Thread: can you make the 3d model of this picture ? | Forum: 3D Modeling
Thought as much, so to try and give the original post a partial answer. There are any number of 3d modelling programs that could be used to make the model but getting it to work as an animate-able (sic) character would require a lot of work. You may want to ask this question at some of the other forums.

Have you looked at the Blacksmith3D forum. That program is designed specificaly for morph targets.

Candid, is this a new model or did you just do a bit of trickery with textures and transparency map?

I was really hoping the manual would be updated. Probably would have bought it since I preffer a real printed manual over the PDF type.

The SiS chipset is the problem. You're lucky to even get Studio to open with many integrated graphics chips. And yes I know I'm not telling you anything you haven't figured out for yourself. I'm just responding so I can have an excuse to say, "AMD makes the finest CPUs on the planet!" Thank you and good night.
Thread: obj multiplication in Blender | Forum: Blender
It seems to be only Import that adds the extra vertices. I've never had it add as many as you have, usually only 5 to 8 times the original. Using Remove Doubles isn't always possible if the original mesh has any tightly placed vertices. The only safe way I've found is to turn on Show Edges, this will highlight any edges of the mesh that is connected to a sellected vertex. Once you have sellected a connected vertex use Sellect Linked, then Separate. Switch back to Object Mode and move the separated piece to a different layer. Repeat until only the additional vertices are left on the original layer. Sellect them (use Join Objects if necessary) and delete. Now save your model as a Blender file so you can continue to work on it, stick to this format until you are sure you are done and ready to Eport as obj again
Thread: Importing Poser figures into Blender | Forum: Blender
Most Poser Figures are made in several separate segments (groups) in order to define the "Bones" for Poser's odd ball rigging system. Often the vertices don't line up along the seams of the groups to allow you to fuse the parts back into a single mesh that you could rig with Blender. Even if you could get the figure into a single mesh the polygon count would probably be so high it make the model almost unusable.

Thread: items for poser all work in Daz studio | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Poser 5 and 6 have Dynamic Hair and Clothes that will not work in Studio. An earlier version of Poser used a special file format for Bump files that can't be used by Studio. Best bet for compatibility is stuff that works with Poser PP(Pro Pack). Some of Posers lights work differently then Studio's so Poser Light sets often won't look the best.
