@ Jcleaver - solutions if you already have MojoWorld... :-) - You will be able to overload your HDD with two installations of this program - You will be able to offer the second one to your aunt for Christmas - We, renderosity's members, will force you to produce twice the number of picture you post each months - You'll offer the second one for the worst picture of this contest - You'll engage yourself in hard studying the resistance of the installation CD under your teeth. The list is endless and I engage everyone in a contest for finding the best way to use a second copy of Mojoworld. I think that the quality slider of volumetric settings acts more or less, like soft shadows : With no soft shadows, the limits of shadow appears really straight, like the volumetric shadows in your first picture. With setting of soft shadows, the limits are blurry and, very high soft shadows can make them almost disapearing, like volumetric shadows in your second picture. The problem is that volumetric sunlight are hard to set correctly and faking it with spotlight, directional or pointlight usually saves a lot of wasting time and pain...

I had a graininess problem like that using a picture for creating an object with material editor. The solution I found was to use a terrain with the same resolution (640x480 or other) than your picture. Higher or lower resolution than the picture makes that kind of problem. Hope it can help...

Ahother way, as I suggested in another post is : Pick up an atmosphere and delete all but one cloud layer. Now, replace the procedural settings with your picture.
