There was some mention that certain morphs have harded coded references to "figure 1:1" (or what ever it would be) in them, requiring that your figure is both the first figure to have been loaded since the scene was loaded (deleting a figure doesn't count) and that it's name is figure one. I had some weird stuff that was happening to me (things not working like you would expect) until I removed the defaul figure, which was a V2/M2 millinium null. Things are working much better now. Perhaps that has something to do with it? eric

actually the male morphs pack introduced some non gender specific morphs for the eyes and chin. These were probably better suited for female than male, but were included in the male pack nonetheless. Anton covers the new morphs in a thread here, back when the male pack was getting ready for release (it might have been in the product forum) eric

So this will be another textures set and a morph set?....that sounds great! I kinda figured that they had just dropped that name, and it was actually the super model morphs or one of those. Sounds good (though my CC is going to be hurtin....just got a Poserworld Sub....been a while since I got some of their stuff....) Gotta get V3 some clothes! eric

How are they getting away with the name? Isn't she a real person, which might be a legal can of worms, eh? eric
Thread: INJection Pose Builder ...can someone translate the tech talk??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
From what I can see, it will translate your V3 based cr2s and regular pz2 files into pz2 files (and faces) that contain only the dial settings and the commands to load the necessary morphs (via injection) This could easily knock those vicky 3 character files down considerably in size. Very handy.....now if they would just do the injection for V2 and M2 as well, our disks would all become much lighter:) I would like to see them add some sort of configuration system to allow you to add your own components for it to pick up on, so that you could use it on non-standard characters as well, but I don't think that is likely. eric

Pizazz, if you do get them, please post a render (very close up) at the market place forum. I've considered getting those as well, but only if they have a finer (and hopefully bigger) texture map. I love that hair, but the texture maps (from daz) are so small, it just doesn't work except for whole body shots! The advertising pictures at 3darena do look nice, but they aren't big enough to see if the detail is any different from those at DAZ:( Thanks in advance, Eric

If you think it is a dial issue, saving a pose (with morph channels) will shorten the load. You could then eyeball the file (though it will still be very large) Another way is to select Body (of the character in question) and choose copy. Paste that into an editor or spready sheet. Do the same with the lCollar, rCollar and chest (each in different places to let you keep up with them) If you find some duplication in the body and some of the other three, it could be a weirdness in the redundancy of the morph. Also, it could be cross talk (if you are using p4) I have seen some pretty nasty exageration in hips just by loading a few figures (they don't have to be the same figure...just have the same parts with common names) Another thing, might be to post a pose file with the related parts set (collars, chest, arms and neck as well as any fbms that affect the chest area) Then someone else might be able to do a render to see if it happens on their machine as well. Eric
Thread: Just came up with a whacked out idea... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Python has GUI controls by default, which is probably how the ProPack stuff can display input boxes and selection boxes. It's basic GUI tools are certainly lame, but they would do in this situation (assuming you are simply talking about file selection type stuff) IM me your email address, Dodger, if you are still looking for someone. If midi is an open spec (which I think it is), you are correct that it should be doable. I do this kinda stuff for a living (mostly C++ but I've done more than I care to admit using various windows only stuff...VB, VCC, you name it) Heck, it could even be a php script on a web site! eric

To me, it's more than the geometry. There are textures that have been made (or purchased) for existing items, which might become useless as we move away from the old V2 figures. As for refitting the clothes to the new model, I have been doing some work, and found that some things go very nicely, and others (often ones you would expect to go easily) just don't work at all. Tailor hasn't been useful for me, but I might have been working on the wrong garments at the time.) Do the items that you modify simply using scaling and the joint converter pose as the original? In order to get anything to bend properly, I have had to manually rename body parts, change the hierarchy and finally do some additional tweaking of the joints myself (thanks Geep!) After that, I have had luck, but it is a fair amount of work. Most of the comments I have seen was that folks were going to create new items, rather than update their original items. Their reasoning is often that there is a lot of work involved to do it right, but that their skills have improved since then and starting fresh would allow them to create nicer items. While I understand this, it still is frustrating to know that they aren't considering their customers as much as I think they should. It is this attitude that has allowed me to be very careful about spending money on V3 products that are currently available (or not spending it). Finally, I too would like to see a figure based on the v3 head and the v2 body. I made a quick attempt this afternoon, but the necks are just too different. Not simply the matter of neck/upperneck business. Nope there are gaps at either the base of the head, or the top of the chest, depending on which neck is used, and will require geometry modification beyond my lowly skills (and probably different software) I wouldn't be surprised if DAZ were to offer something (not unlike their Vicky2P4 cr2s....only using the actual mesh from the other body.) This time, the UV is already done, so it might require less effort (financially feasible) eric
