Subject: V3 Male Pak working only sporadically?

Is the V3 Male Pak with the (new) update still buggy, or is it something I'm missing? It works only sporadically, and absolutely never works if I've already used another V3 figure morph (similarily, once I'm using Male Pak morphs, the other V3 ones don't work). I seem to have better luck if I've got fewer applications running or have recently restarted my system, but that is just an early observation and might have only been coincidence so far. I have WinXP, AMD Duron 1.3GHz, 768MB RAM on Poser4.03. Any help would be appreciated. Take care, Chas

I haven't had any problems. Really, the only problem I ever had with them from the original pack was that they weren't working on V3 to V2.

There was some mention that certain morphs have harded coded references to "figure 1:1" (or what ever it would be) in them, requiring that your figure is both the first figure to have been loaded since the scene was loaded (deleting a figure doesn't count) and that it's name is figure one. I had some weird stuff that was happening to me (things not working like you would expect) until I removed the defaul figure, which was a V2/M2 millinium null. Things are working much better now. Perhaps that has something to do with it? eric

Mine asks for a non-existant file with an odd character in it---a small o with a line under it--and hangs up Poser. But at least it is showing up in the Pose Library now. DAZ is still working on it, so I hope to have a working copy someday ;) Short answer: yes, there must be something odd about the item or it wouldn't hang up a newish iMac with lots of memory installed. And I've learned to my cost to bring Vicki3 in first, too. But it doesn't help with the MalePak, unfortunately.

I tried it with a freshly-opened P4 and V3 (someone also advised by email to make sure I used the updated V3 as displayed in the library with the circle background, as it doesn't remove the updated V3 from the listing) as figure 1, and it seems to be working with both morphs. I'll experiment a bit to see if memory usage changes it a bit etc., but thanks for giving me the tips that made this pak something I can use. Take care Chas
