Stacey, Could it be something in Poser not directly related to the rsr's you are trying to make? Like maybe a corrupted Poser .rsr? Pardon me if I sound like a doofus, but unexplained stuff like this often gets the standard reply of "delete all the rsr's from the geometry folder" or some such thing - do you have any idea what I'm talking about or shall I just stop talking, slink of to a corner and be quiet again? ;)

...a tough female detective makes a wrong turn into an alley, comes face-to-face with a werewolf and she says..... "...not just the ugly stick - the whole tree!" "...fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down" (or shorten it to "Hit every branch on the way down, didn't ya" and then explain the whole phrase in the next frame). "...I have one of those lives" (some people have one of those days, I have one of those lives.) "...your face and my butt." (Got a match? Your face and my butt.) "Sorry, the last one just left." (Running gag: I shoot every third werewolf, and the second one just left.) "Time to mow." (Your *ss is grass and I'm the lawnmower.) My favorite, if the character was a man, and facing another man, would be: "Hey, how's your wife and my kids?" That was fun, although i realize I didn't give a lot of original thoughts. :)

Thanks Doc! Good one! So, you built the first one with studs, in case we want the detail of the studs, perhaps with a transmap on the panel to show wall damage. Then you showed how to build the quick one when we don't care to have the studs, right? Or did I not get the idea?

Duh, didn't finish my filename thought - if it's really long with spaces in it, take the spaces out and make the filename shorter.

Okay, this is just a really big wild guess, but this has happenned to me before - do you have a really long filename, with spaces and stuff in the filename? The only other thing I can think of is maybe 'Rosity is having problems right now - trying later might help. I've had to wait hours before the site would accept an image.
Thread: Morph in the Parameter Dials | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You know, a long time back I saw this sort of thing in the freestuff for V2 - it consisted of basically the same sort of thing. Three morph obj files, the first two of which you added to each eye, then the third was added to the head dials which controlled both of the first two. However, this wasn't for the eyelids, but for moving both eyes at the same time from one dial, so pointing the eyes someplace became much easier. It should still be around...Just FYI...

Dude. Stay. Can't you feel the love? If you truly must go, please come back soon, with a refreshed soul, ready to ignore the 'evil element' which has brought your tenure here as THE BEST TUTOR around to it's premature close.
Thread: Poser and XP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
At one time I saw a link for a memory utility called Cacheman, by a company called Outer Technologies. However, that was back when i was running Win98SE. I just checked their page, and they show that they are currently beta testing CachemanXP. I quote for their site: "The Cacheman utility is designed to improve the performance of your computer by optimizing the disk cache, memory and a number of other settings." It comes with a whole bunch of preset profiles for doing different work on your pc - from cd ripping to multimedia work, and so on. When I ran it with Win98SE, I didn't see much of a performance jump, but I was running with very little disk space and memory available at the time anyway. You might want to keep on an eye on their page: http://www.outertech.com/ Hope this helps! I now have WinXP and half a gig of memory, with Poser 4, and a 7200 RPM 120 Gig harddrive, and it runs liquid smooth, without any tweaks.
Thread: I need help exporing hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Argh, this forum needs an edit button. I meant WITHOUT that, meaning without a transmap/texture, the hair object will look like a helmet.
Thread: I need help exporing hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I don't have any experience in Bryce, but I imagine what you are lacking is the transmapping (or even the texturing) for the hair. With that, yes, it will look like a helmet. Apply a transparency map and it should look better, right?
Thread: A little help with textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think the word miedes' is looking for is 'aliased' or 'antialiased'. While a larger resolution should help, you also need to pay attention to how you are creating the lines in your graphics program - there will be controls there that control the antialiasing. While it may seem backward to antialias an edge you want to be sharp, this really should with your lines.

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
Cool topic idea! Okay, my favorite by another artist in 2k3 is: "Lethal Weapons PTII" by Toxic Angel http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=543996 From my own paltry collection, my favorite would be "Satin Seductress". Even though I can't look at it now without realizing many things I could have fixed. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=487516 Warning: Both referenced images above contain nudity. Cheers!
Thread: to all those who draw hair - advice please :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't think this is bad at all, for just starting out. I'm no expert, the only hair I've drawn is with my mouse (argh) but it looks to me like you need to practice a couple things here. First, find some proper hair brushes, Crasher's tute mentions where to get them (I think that they should be compatible with PSP7). The other thing I noticed is that your line needs to be smoother - try to move the pen at a slightly faster rate, to create a nice smooth non-jaggy line (it'll take practice). Finally, don't worry about shadows and highlighting until you are satisfied with the hair as is; then examine the highlights from your sample pic and use dodge and burn to reproduce the hightlights and shadows - much more realism that way. Really, check out Crasher's tut, you won't be sorry. Keep on painting! Jack
