I use Poser 12. Initially I didn't want to switch from Poser 11 because of all the python scripts I used but since there have been many that came out for P12 and mainly because of Optix rendering I've gone full Poser 12. Optix has cut down render times to such an incredible degree that I cannot bring myself to go back to Firefly or even CPU Superfly. I will be moving on to Poser 13.

Yes, just select open avatar and select the .obj.Is there an easy way to import a figure's .obj to use as an avatar in Jinny?
Avatar from obj has no rig and cannot be poser or morphed.
For Poser meshes select 'feet' as unit and scale 860%.
Figure must be humanoid standing in A or T pose on the ground and is best about human adult sized. See the thread in MD forum about limits to Jinny fittingssuit generation.
Thanks so much! I've got some reading up to do and tutorials to watch but I've always wished for something like Jinny for clothing.

You can export a d-force item from DS, use the DUF prop converter python from the Marketplace here, use D3D's dsf tools or any other way to make it into an .obj. Import it in Poser and set it up as dynamic cloth. I do it all the time with DS only d-force clothes that I'd like to use in Poser.
By far the easiest way is using the python script DUF Prop Converter
Here's an example: I converted Hello Winter to La Femme for the Azraa promos. Note: in this image I converted only the sweater, not the turtleneck underneath because La Femme already had one and I did not use the bump maps from the original hence the difference in how it looks.

Some of the conforming clothing for Don and Judy were placed in the Props folder when Curious Labs released Poser 5 and I guess some vendors followed suit :)
Btw, dynamic clothing is not so difficult to use and looks sooo much better plus it allows you to pose your figure almost any way you like - check out this tutorial if you're ever inclined to experiment.

You can use the grouping tool and select the vertices of this "slip" part. Then assign a different material to just those vertices. You can then make this material invisible!

Those images use a V4 dress called Seasons which is by Mada and Thorne I believe over at Daz. I converted it for La Femme using Crossdresser which is free but you need the La Femme license available here,

Can you be a bit more specific? An example of a character morph and a clothing item that would not work even with the morphs copied over would be a good place to start so we can figure out what's going wrong.
As for fitting clothes from V4 to La Femme there are several ways. One of the quickest and easiest is Crossdresser. You need to download it from the creator's site and buy only the La Femme plugin from here.
