Thread: Last Week in the Galleries | Forum: Photography
What beautiful images this week! I am very honored to have one of my photos among them yet again. This is such an excellent feature, really, because I get to see a lot of treasures I might otherwise have missed. Do we perhaps archive this feature in any fashion so we can easily look at weeks in the past?

Hey I didn't even notice that my Atomium photo was here! How delightful! I'm all smiles. :) You guys are all such an inspiration...I don't think I would be taking half as many photos without your support. :)

He's so fuzzy!!! Absolutely positively adorable, despite the pointy teeth and sharp claws. Best of luck with the new additions to the family. :)

My husband made the same observation. :) I might just change the thumbnail, actually, to highlight a more interesting portion of the photo. --I've been experimenting with thumbnail creation techniques these past couple of days, as you can see. Thank you for the suggestion! :)

After I post a new image, I always go through the What's New gallery, in the true community spirit. :) I generally don't comment unless I have something to say, which is usually no more than once or twice a day. Kind of my offline policy as well. :) This wasn't meant to be a complaint or anything..I should insist on that. I am merely curious as to people's thoughts on the matter.

For some reason I find both versions of the image to be incredible ominous. The shadows seem to be alive somehow. Perhaps it is my over-active imagination. I think I prefer the color version, because I can imagine a person sitting in that last spot of light and color near the tree, as darkness falls to overtake them completely... An over-active imagination indeed!

I have to admit that, of all the edits, the one by TwoPynts is my favorite. However, I do think I prefer the color version above all. Yes the curtains are a bit distracting, but, in thinking on a symbolic level, they show that no matter how heartbroken the young woman might be, there is still beautiful color in the world...and very close to her, if only she will turn to see. Thank you all again and again. I've learned so much from just this one thread. I'm very glad I posted my question! -Mayliah

Andreas, your version looks a wee bit green. :D But, Kort, I really like the second version of the image you have posted. But I'm pretty sure I prefer the color version I originally uploaded...any thoughts on that? In any case, thank you both very much for helping me experiment here. It is very kind of you. :) Mayliah
Thread: Unsteady Hands | Forum: Photography
I think I read about the chain method somewhere, except that it was with a long piece of string tied to a screw that went into the tripod place. It is an interesting notion, worth trying... although it would attract some curious gazes. ;)

I do have a viewfinder and am going to try using it more frequently to see if that improves matters a bit. Thanks for the advice! :)
