Here's a morphing hair piece I made myself.. Rendered in Reality of course.

Quote - This one is kind of pointless except for experimenting with camera angles and focal length.
What did you use for the grass?

Quote - I've kind of gotten over the aversion to noise in lux renders. I don't want it to be too noticeable, but there's still a certain amount of noise and grain in real cameras too. It's just the way things are lighted sometimes. Although, I noticed that I get faster renders and less noise when using Callad's mesh light. Here's one I did recently using Callad's light mesh and trying out the LAMH plugin:
The 500,000 strand fur created an 850meg .ply for lux. hehe Nice for stills, but it'd be a pain to try and get it rigged properly for animation.
Grains are in the film... Older films are grainy.
Hmmm.... What we need is another render contest. Retro and grainy...

Make sure the clothes support the morphs you are dialing. Otherwise they will not adjust at all.

I'm not sure how much experience you have buuuttt.. First... what version? What Daz, what Clothes? What Morphs?
Make sure you're figure is selected before fiting the clothes. (Fit to on the clothes, and select Victoria.)
If you're dealing with V4, you might want to make sure that the clothes actually support the morphs you're dialing. V4 Morphs+++, Elite, Stephanie, etc.
If you are using third party moprhs with upit V4 they are totally unsupported. (Had an SOB last night with GND4. Heavy poses like sitting tent crumple the joints to crap.)
Not all clothes seem to cross talk correctly. So, make sure the dialed morphs on the character are dialed on the clothes.
Even after that fits for clothing can go off with a pose adjustment.

Quote - Why am I thinking Jason Bourne when I see this? LOL. Very nice indeed. I'm not quite sure what the red block on the right is though.
Flying car... Daz Skyrider.

Quote - I wonder how much longer it would of taken for the noise to completely clear. Nice render all the same. I have had to let renders go 9 plus hours just to have specs of noise reduce... I know that adding lots of convert to light adds eons of time this one had taken me 2 plus days and it also still had outstanding noise http://fav.me/d4zm4gu
I think this is as good as it gets. Its sampled at 2k samples/pixel. It doesn' tlook noisy to me. Much of the background materials really are that bumpy. Stonemason is good for that.
The thing that upset me was after 1.5 days, I realized that the disc brakes weren't shiny, and frankly, I should have dialed up the shine on the bike body. sigh I put 8 hours of my life into the render and missed that. sigh

OK… this one is my version of an old Shadowrun image, DMZ (Downtown Militarized Zone).
I think the logic goes that if the .38 doesn’t do the trick, the fireball probably will.
This took 48 hours to render with all the light sources. In fact since my PC was wheezing with the difficulty of this render and the fact that I wanted to sleep at night, I had to upgrade my PC with a water cooler.
As always, this is desktop sized. (Gotta use these renders for something...) You'll need to go to deviant art to get the full image.

Quote - It depends it was a year ago I would say 2 to 3 hours on average the one with the girl overhead POV closer to 5 or 6 don't forget I am taking FULL advantage of queue render I have had renders take as little as 10 & 15 mins. I posted something on my evolution of render times & material tweaking while you were absent..
Well, #3 there looks really good. How? Single curve light?
Two things happened 'while I was away'. I was having a tiff with Daz over its crappy upgrade to its store, and that dove tailed nicely with a huge increase of stress at work. (I changed jobs, and I'm much happier now.)

That's how we all start!
Practice Practice Practice.
Look through my renders to get an idea. My very first render was June 2011. I've come a long way since then.
Start Simple. The first thing I did was read the Poser portrait tutorial, it really helped my learn about lighting.
Since then, I use Reality almost exclusively for my renders, and I found Paolo's tutorials ($20?) for Reality extremely helpful.
I spend most of my time on the forums asking questions about how people do what they do. If they do something I'm interested in, I try to learn it.
And yes... some times I turn out some crap, and kinda walk away from it.

bobvan, how fast are you rattling off your renders? I know that about 1.5 years ago you were just starting Reality, and you had some trouble.

I'm not sure if anyone else is having PC issues. Mine was making a racket when I was rendering.
My PC is an ROG mother board, fast fast fast 16GB RAM, and a 3.8Ghz processor with a stock CPU FAN, and Geforce 560Ti (2GB) video card.
The stock fan would go into overdrive when I was rendering. Given that my last bunch of renders are chewing in excess of 10GB of RAM, with FLM saves > 1.2GB, its no wonder my PC was chugging... for 3 days through some of these renders.
I just upgraded to water cooling. I put in a Corsair H6O. ('cause thats more than H2O?)
Overall my PC is louder, but it hardly breaks a sweat when I'm rendering. CPU temperature is topping at 70C and holding there. The loud turbo fan sound is long gone.

Quote - I'm hesitant to post this after seeing everyone's work, but ....here it is. I'm finally posting something again, that counts, right?
Actually I find this quite excellent. I assume IBL for the lighting.
How did you do the ground? Are the plants Lisa's Botanicals? (The clothes are Hypwear and Extreme Cut Offs?)

Quote - I call this one Henpecked. Please click for larger version.
I really like this render... Mind if I ask how you did the lighting? Sun? IBL? for the outside, and regular meshes on the inside?
