Subject: VicNothing will fit me 4/4.2 and clothing..

mantab ( ) posted Wed, 27 February 2013 at 4:08 PM · edited Mon, 03 February 2025 at 4:02 PM

Whenever i even look at a body slider the clothes wont fit. Or they fit barely after hours of tweaking. With poke throughs everywhere. And a body that looks 95% stock victoria body.

Is this a daz problem? Or my fault?

Are there any helpful tips to make this easier? :)

I'm not sure how much experience you have buuuttt..  First... what version?  What Daz, what Clothes?  What Morphs?

Make sure you're figure is selected before fiting the clothes.  (Fit to on the clothes, and select Victoria.)

If you're dealing with V4, you might want to make sure that the clothes actually support the morphs you're dialing.  V4 Morphs+++, Elite, Stephanie, etc.

If you are using third party moprhs with upit V4 they are totally unsupported.  (Had an SOB last night with GND4.  Heavy poses like sitting tent crumple the joints to crap.)

Not all clothes seem to cross talk correctly.  So, make sure the dialed morphs on the character are dialed on the clothes.

Even after that fits for clothing can go off with a pose adjustment.

Oops sorry. Daz 4.5 pro. All clothes, all morphs :)

( I have V4 Morphs++, Elite and Stephanie4.)

I've been playing with daz for a couple of weeks now. I didnt have these problems with Vicky5 and Genesis.

But all the great content are for vicky 4. So im trying to toy with her.

Almost every single downloaded (free&bought) clothing fits so badly on her after adjusting her body sliders. And i dont mean extreme values. Just looking at the age slider for example will make her butt swallow her underwear.

Luckily some clothes have alot of dials to play with, and after a hour or two the clothes will look "ok" from some angles. Just as long as i dont try to pose her.

So i was thinking if there is any button like weld and melt on her body. Or something like that.

The only victoria 4 clothes that fit most of the time in a "ok" way is the stock red bikini wear.

I tried with Stephanie 4 tonight. Wont try again. ;)

How is it in Poser? Will everything fit much better? And with actually modifying her body sliders?

Thanks.

Make sure the clothes support the morphs you are dialing.  Otherwise they will not adjust at all.

All of the above, plus - Are you trying **Transfer Active Morphs**?

mantab ( ) posted Thu, 28 February 2013 at 3:11 PM

Medzinatar i tried that. By right clicking on the clothes when on the character.

I tried on different ones. It did some calculations but i didnt see any difference.

But i also have the feeling i did it wrong :)

I may have just found the problem.

It's a adult injection i bought that caused all of this shit.

I should have tried this before but i just assumed it worked. Gah

Back to barbie land..

Update 3. Hopefully the last.

Its official now. Im too stupid to use Daz or any other 3d software.

It was not because of the adult injection. It was because i didnt set it up correctly.

Clothes still dont fit as good as for genesis/v5.

But 99% better than before.

v4 clothes will never fit as well as genesis, as genesis is the fix to this exact problem weve had for years, you do know that you can autofit v4 clothes to genesis and all its shapes right?

just keep at it and maybe look at some tuts for ds.

You can get V4 clothes to fit exactly like genesis, I do. I used poser before DS and since i use custom body morphs for all my characters, i just used a free script from Dimension3D to create a full body morph for them, saved a copy of that figure to the library and then used morphing clothes to add that FBM to any clothing i want, fits perfect most times and with the smoothing modifier in DS4.5 you can get a perfect fit just like on genesis..

Yeah, i just wish everything would fit that way, characters, props and so on :)

**FSMCDesigns **I've been thinking about getting Poser. How was it to go to Ds instead?

Whats better and worse?

Depends on the user and what you do with it. I have poser versions from 5 thru 2012 and never had any issues with them. I tried DS quite a few times but never liked the user interface. then came Reality, the DS plugin for the Luxrender renderer, so i had to learn DS in order to use it. Now with DS4.5 i rarely use poser at all. I find character creation, scene setup and getting clothing to fit any figure with genesis a HUGE time saver than doing the same thing in poser. I do love poser dynamic cloth and miss a few of the python scripts I have in it, but I still prefer DS now.

I look at it this way, DS is for new users and poser is for more advanced users since there more options in getting from point A to point B. Bottom line, if you are problems with the basics of clothes fitting in DS, Poser will not be easier.
