Hi Kimberly
Ā Of course I'll share what little knowledge I have......If anyone has any questions I'll be only too happy to help...mmm....if I can.
To answer your first question ...all the animation ,rendering is done in Poser...I started the "mini movie"..using Version 5....then onwards upto V7pro...:)
Some of the fx where done in afterfx, Fxhome products and Particle Illusion....All the editing and sound are done in Premiere pro.
I believe that a small scale movie can be done solely in Poser (any version) it is infact what I see the application for.
One other point worth mentioning if you look at my movie you will see that the editing and pace are fast and perhaps a little furious. I believe that when hobbyists make their epics for others to see you should do your utmost to keep it short and also in my case because actual animation is not really my best point it helps to keep the cam moving about.
Making movies is really my main interest and I find Poser the ideal application for taking your viewers on a magical tour of your thoughts.
Ā
Many thanks for kind words and I'm glad you liked my "mini movie".:)

Hi "artistheat"
Many thanks for taking time out to watch "Family Values" and for your kind words.
I'm glad you liked it it and I love the expression "mini movie" I shall be using that in the future.
My next mini movie will be a sea going ,swashbuckling pirate job.......I can see myself getting into deep water with this because it calls for a "Perfect Storm" scene.....mmmmmmm. I bet this forum will be fed up with my begging letters for help on this one........aaaahhh!
I've been in my movie archives and re-watchedĀ the 1950's "Treasure Island" for inspiration in the old technicolour Walt Disney style......Robert Newton was so great at playing Long John Silver.
Thanks again
Dave

Because DOF is so render intensive I usually prefere to cheat and split the shots up into different layers then adjust blur as required in my editing program as my stuff is usually ani ation but you could also do this in PS for single images

Thanks Doc........you have made my day......will I get free milk and cookies at school morning break........I've spent many hours in your class and recommend your fun type learning for everybody of all levels.
I still feel I know so little of Poser and its little quirks but my real heart is in Filmaking and in this field Poser I find is a perfect companion ....you can create all kinds of worlds and characters without bothering and annoying friends and family to help as unpaid actors....(as it used to be in the past).
The "chick"...mmmmm...well very soon all will be revealed.......she is in fact a very important part of the story.
Thanks again Doc I'm really happy you liked it so far.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dynamo...
Thank you so much for your comments .
I'm rather overwhelmed by your kind words and it would be real bonus if my little movieĀ helps other budding movie makers to use Poser as their main creator.
Thanks again

I totally agree with your common sense approach Posermocap but I'll try to push the system a little to see what happens......I will keep you all informed on my failure/success.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Posermocap
Thanks for good advice.....I would normally do as you suggest but I wanted to give the Poser Layer system a good go .As you say on your site the layer system should be a great asset for working with mocap files etc and now that i've got your undivided ..have you had much success with the layer system yourself.
I've signed up and recieved my freebieĀ bvh file hehe and talking my wife into inreasing my pocket money to buy your assorted BVH files. A great lot to have in ones libary.
A great site.
