You could export just the forearm, hand (and fingers) as an object file, delete Don, and then import
the object file back in and take it to the setup room and re-bone it, using Don's bones.
Then just delete all the bones you don't need, such as those for the head, thighs, feet.
Thread: Any goog reason to buy Poser pro? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I didn't see much reason to upgrade to Poser 7, but when the Poser Pro base came out,
it seemed like too good a deal to pass up. I'm really happy with it so far.
I am really impressed with the render speed of Poser Pro. Not sure how it compares to
Poser 7, but I had been using Poser 6, and it seems a lot faster than Poser 6.
Plus I really like how it renders using multiple threads. It starts out like a normal render,
a block at a time, and then part way through, BANG!, the render is complete.

Quote - Thanks I will take a look at the zip file. The other hard thing to do is create a GLOW effect on something as if it is illuminated. In VUE you can just turn on luminescence and it will create the effect of a slight glow on any object. If you could do that in Poser in combo with Ambient turned on it would be easier to create better lighting efx.
At the Smith Micro website is a tutorial that shows how to use Ambient Occlusion in reverse
to create a glow effect. The tut shows how to make glowing charcoal in a grill, but it could
probably be adapted to your purpose. (This only works if you have Poser 6 or 7.)

How much memory does your computer have?
I had a lot of problems with Vue crashing.
I had 1 GByte of physical memory.
I upgraded my computer to 4 GBytes of memory
and now Vue is a lot more stable, haven't had
any crashes so far.
I use Windows XP Pro, and one thing I noticed
when I looked at the Task Manager is that when
rendering, Vue uses over 2 GBytes of memory,
so that might explain why it kept crashing when
I only had 1 GByte of actual memory.

Quote - My heart does not bleed for million dollar homes built on top of each other, sorry.
That's rather cold hearted. Just because a person is fortunate enough to be able to buy
a nice house doesn't mean they don't have feelings too. They deserve our prayers too.

Quote - Man all the Xs Ys and math symbols sure are daunting (in those scripts) I just see them and my soul starts to hurt. I hope I get the hang too = )
The Ys just mean up and down and the Xs mean side to side. (Zs mean back and forth).
So when you see the Y, just think how high, an when you see the X just think extent.
(And the Z, how near me.)

Quote - or just take a normal hairpiece, and move it 'too far down' on the y axis..;)
You know, I've done this before and it actually works pretty good, also change the Y scaling
to something less than 100% so the hair doesn't end up sticking out of the ears.

It is a very nice foot.
Thread: OT- Bats in the attic anyone??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - A hundred years ago, bat guano was a highly prized comodity for helping to make Roses bloom.
DPH
Bats mostly eat insects, which are high in protein, so bat guano is very high in nitrogen.

Quote - First computer was a Z80 based Exidy Sorcerer in 1980. Had a whole whopping 4k of memory. We did a modification to the motherboard and hardwired in another 4k of memory. In those days you had to modify a tape recorder to load your programs.
My first was an Atari 800 that I bought in 1979. It too had 4k of memory, but did come with
a plug in cassette tape drive for storing programs. Later I bought an Atari 800XL
from Toys R Us, that had a whopping 64k of memory and a 5 1/4 disk drive.
Then I sort of gave up on computers for a while and my first PC was some
Laser brand 286 job that I bought in somewhere around 1988.
