thanks, that's a good technique. I've since played around with the Paint tab in the Terrain Editor, and noticed that if you click Reset (on the left of the Terrain editor), and then start painting using a soft airbrush, you get nice round hills. Then you can play around with filters if you want a bit of asymmetry.
BTW, that's a cute avatar, is that your pet ?
You're welcome! I'll have to try the technique you mentioned also. More control that way.
Thank you, that's my dog, Chaco. Glad you like him! He's beautiful inside and out! :o)
Thread: How to Make Rolling Hills and Avoid those Wretched Jagged Peaks | Forum: Vue
I'm a Vue beginner, but I was looking for info on this very subject last night. The following link helped me out quite a bit:

I created my own "terrain height map" in Photoshop Elements using the clouds filter and gaussian blur. I used that in the terrain editor by clicking on the "picture" button. Then, I clicked "zero edges". I duplicated the terrain and resized them both just with the x, y, z coordinates. I've included a copy of the image I made.
I hope this makes sense. lol! I don't really know what I am doing, yet! I hope you find a method that will give you what you want. :o)
Cheers,
Molly

Wow! That is soo awesome! Great job! Of course, now I'm sad that I'll have to wait another year or so for the next part.  ;o)

Thread: Wishlist - A Work In Progress?? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I'd like to add my voice to this thread. I hate the wishlist the way it is for all the reasons already stated. In particular, not knowing any of the prices or whether something is on sale is really troublesome. Thanks. :o)

I finally got my image uploaded! :-) I tried the PS Elements again, but had the same problem of bad pixelization so I deleted it. Tried the Irfanview again and it worked just fine. I don't have any idea why it didn't work yesterday, but that's ok. Whew. I'm all better now. :-) Thanks again for your help. Molly

SndCastie and AgentSmith, Thanks for replying, I really appreciate it. :-) When I use "Save for Web" in PS Elements, do you know if I should have "optimized" checked or unchecked? What about "quality"? 60? 80? Higher? I know my files were under the limits of 15 and 512kb. Well, I will try again here in a little while. I'll keep trying. I'll get it right eventually. :-) Thanks again, Molly
