Spectacular! It's nice to know that the little program I play around with is capable of such professional results. Keith
Thread: Is Carrara 2.0 worth the money? | Forum: Carrara
The only modeling tool added to version 2 is subdivision mdeling other wise modeling tools are the same. The basic difference is CS2 has bones, a global illumination renderer, subdivision modeling and bug fixes. I haven't had any problem with crashes or lockups. I'm hoping that they add some of the Amapi modeling tools to Carrara 3. Keith

I'm glad I could be of assistance. I have been looking for a program to manage my 3D files for quite awhile. When I came across your program I though this would be perfect if it only supported Carrara. Thank you for responding to my request so quickly. Keith W

Eovia has a software developer kit. Would that help? The download address is http://www.eovia.com/carrara/sdk_car.jsp Also I am sure that the people at Eovia would be more than willing to answer your questions. Keith W

What do they mean by "fresh install". Do they want the us to install the 2.1 update over the unpatched Carrara 2? Keith

Nice work! You not only saved the news you got a response from Antoine too. I would like to see the animation when you post it.

I was looking at Artmatic too. It looked real interesting but then I saw it was Mac only. I wonder if they are planning to port it over to the PC?

I know exactly what you mean. I finished a major remodeling project on my house a month ago. new electrial, new plumbing, new insulation the inside was pretty much gutted. I stored everything in the garage and now I can't find a thing. Took me two weeks to find my fan. Now I don't need it. Luckly, I took my Carrara 2 disks and manual put them in my suitcase. (I stayed with friends while the remodeling was going on.) When I moved back in I install C2 and down loaded the patch. I've got a cable modem now, What a diffrerence that makes! No more overnight downloads.
Thread: New plugin in the works? | Forum: Carrara
I'm certainly interested. I'm interested in anything that will help in creating vertex objects. But what I would like to see is a a plugin that would import AI cross sections directly into the vertex modeler. It's much easier to do the cross sections with a full featured illustration package than to draw them in Carrara.

Thread: do I want c2 ? | Forum: Carrara
Brent,
There is a work around that will allow to the texturing of different sections of a vertex model. What I do is select the polygons that I want shaded with a different texture and cut and then immediately paste the polygons back in it original position. This creates one vertex model with any number of different texturing areas.
This procedure works with both C1 and C2.

There should be a a fairly thick dark line to indicate where the water meets the bricks. Keith
