Thread: help! Lost the main window... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another solution ive just thought of is this. Above where your main window should be in the middle of thescreen you will see a title called "untitled1", or maybe a different name if your opeing a scene you did earlier. Click on the name and your window should appear after youve clicked on it :O)

lol, let me open up poser now and see for myself what ya do! Ok, the only thing i can figureout at the moment is this. You have somehow resized you document wndow so its so small its invisibe. Solution? Go to "window" pull down menu at the top of the screen, pull down and select "document window size" (its the bottom one on the drop down list. Then just make sure you have a decent size in the settings. The default size is 350 x 350 pixels. Not sure if that is the solution your looking for but hope it helps you out :O) Cya :)

The only solution you have then really is to save your animation as a series of images (i.e Jpeg's or gif's) and then stitch hem together in a program such as Macromedia Fire works and turn them into a transparent gif file etc. The only problem is obvioulsy its not in flash format. There is now way round this really. The only other thing i can suggest you llok at is adobe After Effects 5! www.adobe.com If your working with flash then why do you need a transparent background anyway? Can you not just match the colour value of the background to that of your stage in Flash, making the appearance of tranparency? Or why not look at outputting your file somehow into flash format (even if not transparent at this stage) and then import that flash movie into Macromedia Director, choose transparent background from the property inspeactor and then export it as a shockwave mvie or something. There is allways a solution to ANY problem at all, the oly thing you need t do is find it belive me. Might take a bit of lookin at but try not to think to laterally. Look at the compatibility betwen differetn programs and come up with a workable solution. Its not easy but i am 100% positive that if you invest time then youll sort it out. Good Luck

Schlabber, I think im going to scream (smiles). Im not sure you understand what im saying here though, no offnce :O) What i mean is when i click on render it renders it but only as a still. As soon as i make a movie from it the textures arent there. Does that make sense! Sorry mate, you must tthink im a right muppet but its just taking some grasping thats all :O) Many Thanks! Also do you know where i can get conforming clothing and props for the standard p4 posette and the dork! ?

Ok thanks! The problem is this though and as yet nobody has told me how you do it :O( If i go into the materials editor chosse a new skin texture and then go into render and render it it looks fine, but hen when you go back to your main window and move your figure it goes back to how it looks before it was rendered. Im at a total loss here really. Does anyone know where there are any really good tutorials for beginners on how to create textures etc. Theres so much to learn with Poser its unreal. i wish there was a tablet or pill on the market where you could just swallow it and have the wealth of knowledge that you poeple seem to have :O( Very stressfull!

yeh this is true....one way to convert your Bitmap images into Vector is by using Macromedia freehand and tracing each frame of your animation once youve exported it as a gif. Its a lenghty process though so be warned. Having said that its very easy to do if you can invest the time. All you do is open up freehand, draw a selection round your bitmap image and it converts it into Vector shapes, you then just place your cursor onto the bitmap image and press the delte key and you and up with only the Vector version. another thing to consider is the loss of image clarity when your using solid vector shapes rather than Run Length Encoding. In other words where your original bitmap might fade from black to white very gradually, a vector graphic of that bitmap would be made up of solid shapes fading from black to white. Best thing to do if your interest is visit the macromedia website and download the trial version.

Ive been asking the same question lately and from what i understand you have two options, well a few but two that stand out anyway. You can save your animation out of poser, and save as an avi file yeh? The you have a few options really. You could then take your avi into Adobe Premier and export into gif format. Then import that gif file into flash and save an a SWF file. The problem with this, or so im told is that Flash 4 or 5 tends to create rather big file sizes, in fact i tried it and the avi was exactly the smae size as the flash i created. The secret it seems is to play around with the settings in both poser and also Premier. Keep your movies as short as possible, perhaps play around with the GIF export settings and reduce the number of colour if you can. And keep your movie dimensions down as small as possible. n other words dont try creting a Flash movie from an ive that is 640x640. Sorry i cant be more help but hope it gives you an idea. Im told that Flash3 offers smaller SWF files when importing GIF files, but not sure how much truth there is in that. P>S Ive just re-read your question and your looking to export and avi movie from poser yeh? Assuming of course that you have created an animation you need to then go into "Animation" on your top tool bar then "make movie" that brings up a dilaog box where you can choose the size etc. Hope that helps a bit more lol :) Later!
