I think Tresamie meant your fractal's parameters, not the formula.
However, something like this came up on the mailing list before and if I recall correctly lines like
float h = #height
float w = #width
mean that the height and width of the image are used to calculate the results.
Thread: Adding scripts to Apophysis | Forum: Fractals
I think you just save them to your ApophysisScripts folder and use them normally, assuming these are files available for download and not just the text of the script on a webpage. If it's the latter you can copy and paste it on a text file and save it to the Scripts folder with an .asc extension.

> Quote - as far as i'm concerned, the littler image hasn't decreased in quality at all...There's a thread in the commnunity center showing some examples of the problem (and a CSS fix for those who don't like clicking twice to see the whole image). Unfortunately it seems Renderosity's plan is to create a smaller file when you upload an image, instead of telling the browser to shrink it during display as they're doing now. While this would theoretically fix the jagged lines, it would also mean no way around the extra click.
I kind of agree that images that don't fit the screen are bad, in the sense that one is not viewing them properly either. However, given that everyone uses a different resolution and certain types of images need to be big to show details, the best solution to me is to include an option to turn off the resizing.
Thread: Fractal Window Weekly (March 28 - April 2)! | Forum: Fractals
I've only now found the Fractal Windows after being away for a few weeks. They're great! I like this format much better than the Hot20.

Well, I've uploaded a "nude" fractal just now, but I like to think it's tastefully done. ;-) I valiantly resisted the urge to put it under "pin-ups".Thread: Hot 20 suggestions | Forum: Fractals
Some random thoughts... I don't want the Hot20 to simply go away because I like the idea of having a gallery showcase (after all the site isn't just about the artists, it's about viewers too). It's a good way to explore a gallery one doesn't visit often, provided it isn't the same people being all over it all the time. That's why I'm in favor of having at most 2 images from an artist at any given time. I also liked the idea of the images appearing in random order without the number of votes. That makes it less of a contest. I'm not sure about restricting the people who can vote in a gallery, because I don't know how much of a problem votes from non-posters cause and it doesn't address people voting for their friends because their friends voted for them. I'd guess the latter happens more often than the former.

I have mixed feelings. There are some images that I think are better suited for other galleries, because the fractal is secondary. On the other hand, I enjoy seeing all the different ways that fractals can be used and I'd miss that if they weren't on the fractal gallery (I barely have time to keep up with it).
Thread: Are "non-flame" fractals obsolete? | Forum: Fractals
I had an easier time learning Ultra Fractal than Apophysis, because Apophysis seemed simple enough that I didn't bother with a tutorial. The tutorials that come with UF really helped me. It still took a while to get a decent image, but at least I had a clear idea of what I was doing.

Yes, that's it (I may have to rethink my position on the adequate clothing of Poser figures ;). Here's a link to the original fractal.Thread: Fractals meet Poser | Forum: Fractals

PIXELPUNK10010 used one of my fractals in a Poser image. I may be biased, but I thought it turned out nicely.Thread: New member here | Forum: Fractals
Did you try reducing the jpg's quality? As for me, I use Paint to create my thumbnails. Open 800x600 image, resize to 25%, save as blablablaThumb.jpg. If squeezing into 200x200 or less deforms the image too much, I use part of it (without resizing) and write "detail" on the thumb. (Now that I think of it, it isn't every version of Paint that saves jpgs, is it?)
