oh im quite confident that e.on will be improving on quite alot of segments in the next vue incarnation, in my opinion e.on started to move vue forward quite rapidly once v4pro was released so once t2 is released in 2006 i would guess that e.on will already have replied back :) so im confident that clouds will be one of the major improvements (i could be wrong of course) and i do hope well get to see the next solidgrowth engine aswell in v6I (lol yeah i know i would much rather see it happen in v5 aswell but realisticly i just dont see that happening) Anyway we see it, landscape and scenery 3d has a bright and interesting feature and im looking forward to both the next vue and terragen version.

lovely one here and yeah i think e.on needs to start paying attention to the clouds part of vue, it realy is a big part of a scenery application and especialy now that vue is aiming more and more towards serious studios.Thread: Volumetric Clouds in Vue | Forum: Vue

my personal opinion is that you should remove the bilboards in the water, the male and kid on the shore looks great and fits your scene perfectly but the ones in the water doesnt. nice update
Thread: Hi, thinking of buying Vue... | Forum: Vue
just felt like saying that 1 gig of ram is plenty enough to work with for v5I, yes there are out of memory issues but those will happen regardless of the amount of memory you have since they are bugs (my humble opinion) as far as im concerned you can even use vue with 512 meg ram, but yes for the moment due to bugs you will run into some out of memory issues sooner or later. With that said, as far as 3d and media work goes theres of course not such a thing as to much memory or cpu performance :) but your rig is more then enough to handle v5I. Other then that ailkema is right that vue lacks particles and such things but it realy is an excellent application as far as im concerned (which of course can get even better).

"Note that you need a V5I license to do this. The fusion plugin can still be used without a V5I license, but only to load scenes, not to edit them" from the post at c3d, better to read it then to speculate you know :) so in short, to edit the vue scene youll need a v5I license, but if all you want to do is load up vue scenes then all you need is 3dsmax/maya and fusion.Thread: Will Vue Fusion plug in be free or cost something? | Forum: Vue
it will of course cost money, it doesnt even require you to have vue5 infinite for some of the things so of course its going to cost money. and further more, the "only" ones interested in such a product have 3dsmax or maya and can therefore afford to pay a premium price to be able to workinside of their main 3d application so theres no point in giving it away. then again, well know more once its released, but i woudnt hold my breath hoping it will be free :) just my opinion tho

my reply went awol... yes i would recomend xfrog and onyx aswell atleast for now since vue wont let you create entirely new plants, as wabe said you can modify existing plants to look almost unique and you can combine several plants aswell.
Thread: Vue Fusion to be unveiled at Siggraph ! | Forum: Vue
Harverdgrad, this wont replace what you have its two different ways of doing it, fusion will let you work in LW in your case with your vue infinite content, existing sync/plugins lets you just export stuff to lw from vue or sync cameras in vue from Lw so existing plugins will of course continue to exist and be improved upon in future vue versions, fusion will as petshoo mentioned most likely be quite expensive since its intended use is development houses and they can for sure afford a 400 to 800 us$ pricetag for this plugin. Anyway, thats how ive come to understand it.

lovely looking house you got there (in real life) and nice work so far with the render/scene, no real opinion, in my opinion that render is all down to lightning now.

i doubt theyll miss out on xsi, if both maya,max,c4d and lw is getting fusion im quite sure xsi will get it aswell, would be quite weird if they neglect xsi.

yep i think its a very useful tool aswell, surprised more people havent mentioned it but perhaps its such an obvious advantage over previous vue versions or people havent realy noticed it :)
