Win98 doesn't know from dual boot, so the way to do this is install Win98 first, and then Install WinNT or Win2K. WinNT/2K will take care of the dual boot during the install. If you're installing WinNT, make sure it's on a regular Fat partition, since WinNT can't read Fat32 like Win98 can.

I hate to disagree with Quikp51, but this isn't really true. I have a voodoo 3, and it works very well with Lightwave, Max, and I've even seen Maya running on it. For a $100 card, it performs very well. The Voodoo 5 has more ram, better texture resolution, 32Bit 3D color, and is a damn nice card. The GeForce DDR and GeForce2 are also nice cards. The important thing with 3D apps is OpenGL support, and the current Voodoo drivers have added full OpenGL support. 128 MBs is adequate, but more is better. With 3D, more is always better! :) As far as Poser goes, I don't think any 3D card will help all that much, as Poser doesn't use OpenGL. I don't know if it uses DirectX either, but from personal experience, I haven't seen any interface performance improvement with a 3D card. BTW, no consumer level 3D card will accelerate your software's rendering, they just make the 3D preview faster and look better.
Thread: More NT- do-dee-doo-doo(a little twolight Zone, please) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In my experience, Poser is a lot more stable under Win2k. I never get those weird .obj related crashes. Win2K does need more ram though. And make sure (this is true for NT as well) that all your hardware is compatible, and has drivers etc. Also, Win2k is somewhat iffy for games (and NT is abysmal, if that's a concern)

Sounds like your Local ISP or News Service is screwing up. Remarq (www.remarq.com) and www.mailandnews.com have those groups, just visited tonight in fact. Might want to check with you ISP's tech support, or with whomever you get your newsfeed from.

looks pretty good, I especially like the grey accordian-thingee (for want of a better name :) on the forearm. Depends on the look you want, hi-tech smooth all it needs is a texture I thing, if you're going for a more retro-tech, you might add some detail, rivets or bands or other type gadgetry. For more alien look, you could add some spikes on the back of the upper arm.

Well, since my printer is broke, I rarely print stuff out. :) I can live with PDF or HTML or whatever. I think a flash approach would be cool, but is this something we could download and view off-line? I have a dial up, and can't always be online.

Ooops! I put a grin between brackets, and forgot this was HTML land, and not usenet. Anyway, :)

I think Morph World (link to right) has a denim texture tutorial, in the Photoshop section.

How hard would it be to do both? The wings (which are incredibly beautiful BTW) look to have been an incredible amount of work, but would the chest piece (this would be the only conforming part, correct?) be as bad? I don't really know how much difference there would have to be, so maybe I'm speaking out of turn here. Just a thought.
Thread: How do y'all organize your personal Poser archives? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For my own stuff, I keep a work in progress folder and a final folder, while I am working, I keep stuff organized by topic, objects, textures, whatever, and by date. When I'm finished, I put all the pieces in a final folder, like KrystaFinal, which has sub-folders for Geometries, CR2 files, textures, finished renders. For downloads, I try to keep stuff organized by topic (character, texture, prop, and by creator) When I have enough stuff collected, I burn a CD. In my media catalog program (Where is it?), I also try to cross reference stuff, so I can find everything by a specific artist, or every type of prop. Confession time: I am really far behind on this organization thing. I blame this on all of you people! If there weren't so much good stuff to download, I could keep up! :)
Thread: P4 nude Female | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You may have accidently messed up the original OBJ file in the Geometries folder, if the original Poser 4 figures won't display. Might try deleting the P4NudeWom.rsr in your Geometries/P4NudeWoman folder. If that doesn't work, might have to reinstall the original P4NudeWom.obj file. Unless someone has a better idea?
