huh? As far as I can tell, this site is being run by concientious people, who do their best to stay in business and keep things civil. As far as hubris is concerned, pride in one's work is constructive, not vain. The web can be a strange place, but rude and whining is just that, no matter what name you slap on it. (No, I'm not referring to anyone in this thread.) And a few people who agree defending actions are just that: people who agree. I'll plead guilty to being a Pollyana in most of my comments, but they're heartfelt. Otherwise I wouldn't bother to type them. The makeover for example. It wasn't the one I voted for, but now that it's up, it looks great, it works great, and I like it. No brown-nosing or mindless flattery, even though it's positive. Criticism can come in 2 forms. Going on the offensive will, quite naturally, put everyone on the defensive. Presenting your issues calmly and asking for assistance usually elicits all sorts of help. Let's face it: nothing here is truly life-or-death critical, or has to be solved in the next 10 seconds. 2ยข spent. ;)

The story just gets better and better! The detail in facial expressions is wonderful to watch.. and for those who haven't seen it, the last bit is just incredible in animation, lighting and textures. Bravo!

I meant the water in the quarry was cold. ;)
Don't know a darned thing about texturing in Poser. I can barely get a pose done and export into Cinema,ย whereย thingsย areย muchย moreย comfortable.ย It'sย interestingย toย seeย howย differentย people
react to different interfaces.
Poser does very nice toon renders, by those examples!

brrr... that water is cold! That must have been one very long flight (or flights) down to Australia, but I've heard the trip is worth it. Great food, great beaches and great people down there!

Ultimate Morph's for Miki2 is now on the short list. ;)
I checked out your photos of Wales at your site, and wow! just gorgeous! Then I googled that quarry, and it's beautiful, too! The water did look like it would be a little cold, though. I think you're living in the world's best-kept secret.

You know, that's what I'm beginning to love about this forum.. the drama, the killer humor, the drift, the cat pics... but you couldn't pay me enough to switch places with any of the mods here. Poser mods deserve combat pay. ย Oh... wait... they get all this humor.. does that count as a fringe benefit? ;)

Nice work, Esther! She does toon well!ย Can'tย youย changeย herย lipย colorย inย Cinema?ย
Iย knowย whenย Iย bringย figuresย inย viaย Riptide, afterย havingย exportedย fromย Poserย withย everythingย
checkedย exceptย "morphย target",ย theย lipsย areย aย separateย textureย tag.ย Easyย toย changeย colorย
andย makeย themย niceย andย shiny.ย ย Presuming,ย ofย course,ย you'reย renderingย inย Cinema...ย
I already mentioned Miki's lack of wardrobe to my friend (nameless so she doesn't get inundated). And I suggested she ask here what you all might be looking for in the way of togs.ย Hopeย sheย gets
some free time soon.ย
Think I'm covinced on this one. I'll fuss about for a while, then get the RDNA morph pack.. which my nameless friend also highly recommends. ;)

(the ebots failed me, here) This is getting stranger. I use my middle name, lee, but my first name is Vivian. Being named after a quarry is good.. I think. ;) ย I will definitely check out the photos on your site!ย ย
ย Since the clothing I'll need is so specific, I'll be doing it all in Cinema the hard way. Unfortunately, the way I model isn't suitable for any sort of export. I do know someone who can do it the right way, so I'll put a bug in her ear once she's through with the pile of work on her desk.
lee... trying to pry the cost of Miki out of her fist... ;)

Dang! I took so long to reply, I missed the coffee fight!
I'll take you up on the Welsh beer, and the Turkish coffee (yummm). But I'm waiting until y'all settle down before visiting down south.

oh, noo... in North Wales?! On the coast?!ย Bearย withย me,ย I'mย goingย seriouslyย OTย here...ย
I blame Ellis Peters Cadfael series for starting all this. Her descriptions of Shrewsbury and Wales were so visual, they piqued my curiosity. So I read more. Then I read more. The more I read, the more I realised how much today is based on what the Welsh believed and, more importantly, what they kept records of. When I started looking at photos of Wales, I was sunk. Never could I imagine such beauty! It may just be geology and climate, but I've seen photos of rivers inย North Wales that go beyond description.ย ย Heck,ย Iย evenย triedย toย learnย Welsh.ย Didn'tย workย tooย well: Iย neverย gotย
pastย howย toย pronounceย whatย letterย whichย wayย whenย followingย whatย letter.ย ;)ย
A little more on-topic, Miki interested me, because I'm in the (protracted) planning stages of a series of images I really want to do, based on a book by Steve Blake. Pendragon. But not the mythical figures... images of what they might really have looked like, set in what was then called Britain, and is now called Wales, based on Welsh records. It's the History Major in me: I have to do tons of research on clothing, building styles, tools and household things...
Will I ever get over there? Not if I don't stop spending all my pay on Cinema upgrades, render engines, and hardware. ;)

Gwyn, that image shows exactly what attracts me to Miki. She has a real face.. and the yawn looks real!ย Notย aย perfectย plasticย face,ย butย oneย thatย mightย reallyย existย withoutย aย plasticย surgeon.ย
Great image, BTW!
I have to mention that you live in the one country I really, really want to see sometime prior to croaking.
DP, that sounds like an excellent idea! From the Fixer's (as in Michael Ironside?) image and one particular incarnation over at RDNA, I think Miki is vastly underused.

Stormchaser: I double-dog dare you to post that image. ;)
I have started images, can't figure out how to finish them, and given the concept to someone else with more vision and technical skill. That feels good. I've also had "friends" take an idea of mine and post their version without as much as a please or thank you. That doesn't feel good. Needless to say, they aren't on the short list anymore.
Watching the site morph over a nice glass of Port feels pretty funny.

Ah.. the smell of burning lemons in the summer...
I keep seeing the poor site coders feverishly working away (copy/paste/copy/paste) as fast as their worn fingers can move, while we're all posting and throwing hiccoughs into their efforts.
edit: I really, really like these colors!
