We were talking about the DAZ site.
Anything I buy there costs me 8.5% more than any other site.
If you are not a Texas resident that does not affect you. It does enter into any purchase choices for me. If a vendor sells at both DAZ and Rendo I will buy at rendo. Has nothing to do with DAZ bad/Rendo good. Has to do with cheaper.

Well I have been a PC member for years, and that will end when it expires. I live in Texas so I have to pay sales tax when i buy there. I visit there daily, check the forums and new releases. I have not bought anything this year that my monthly voucher + the vouchers they provide have not covered the cost, but I still have to pay the sales tax.
Any vendors that sell exclusivly there are effectivly off of my buy list.

If you are using Vista/W7 and have UAC turned on (default), do not install in program files or you will have a variety of problems.
If your runtile is in program files, you will probably experience some problems also, but you should be able to add the Poser 7 runtime to what everversion you have (there is a 2010 and a 2012 but no 2011).

Considering that most of what I do involves fully clothed characters for illustration, The 'benifits' of V4/Genisis/DS are of absolutly no advantage for me. Considering that I still use Imagine3D for modeling (at least 10 years since company went under), I tend to use what I am comfortable with.
So No to V5/DS

Check your preview settings, with nvida should be OpenGL, pbuffer, and try both with and without hardware shading.

In poser 9/pro2012 you use the frame option.
in previous versions I dont think you can with the main camera. Pose camera or Face camera will do it though

UAC will not let you write to Program Files unless you run as administrator.
Your choices are to either install with administator priviliages or to create a runtime structure outside of Program files and add as an external runtime.

When I do a character, I use V4 because with all the morphs/textures avalable, V4 can look like any race and any age/shape. Until there is another model with that support, V4 will remain popular.
Sometimes attractive is not what you want.

If you are using IDL only, what are your quality settings? If set too low and there are no other lights this seems to happen.

You could try maie-body no scale. it bulks her up some so you would have to make other adjustments.
