It's a morph-off! Jim, i believe that SMV could start with this. You're so great! i made my own modest morphs, and uploaded them to free stuff after testing, but didn't squish her toes. Should have, i suppose. Ow! Better her feet than mine in that fetish gear! i made a "full body morph" according to Traveler's Morph World tutorial, but failed to get them to apply correctly. Maybe next time. Cheers-- Nan a woman in *comfortable* shoes :^)Thread: Sigh - short trans map story | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi, whoopdat-- Since i'm still fiddling with transmaps, could you expand on the "check the black" part? Do you mean go read the RGB when you have the map loaded in Photoshop and see that the value is 0,0,0? White shows, black masks. i recently changed a texture map for a simple dress & added a transmap for same. How far over the black line edges of the UV map do you have to paint? i was getting funny streaks not the color i applied on the seams, and yet i'd overlapped them somewhat. Thanks-- Nan
Thread: Looking for textures for Long Conforming Curls (no text) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Allerleirauh did some a ways back, and i can't lay my hands on that link at the moment. However, i can pass you a copy tonight, if you like? Her curls texture is very pretty. --Nan
Thread: High heel morph for Victoria | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mary, Ya know, my day job is interfering with my Poser fiddling! Darn it! :^) Anyhow, yes, i'll have to conquer that next... after these three current projects. i was hoping for a quick fix, but one is seldom rewarded for trying to squiggle out of doing the work. As for a foot morph for Victoria, since Jim Burton's nice-looking one only works for P4woman, what would you like in return?? Cash via PayPal, or something else? Many thanks, Nan
Thread: High heel morph for Victoria | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks guys. i'm still at the stage where i put out a magnet, tweak dials, and nothing happens. That is, still not clue-ful. Your hints are helpful. And i'll go check out Laura (though i'm not a fan of the supermodel look, overall). --Nan

OK, i'm an airhead... please forgive me. i'm thinking of Jim Burton's high heel morphs w/o the rest of the supermodel. ((beg beg))
Thread: DREAMSPINNER SKY I altered for Night sky. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: http://www.diardsoftware.com
Folks, it's not just a black square. i can discern some clouds in there. Because there isn't a lot of contrast in the very dark colors, with some video cards it may be hard to see. If the image was rendered on a Mac & then posted to the forum, then the PC users will typically see a *much* darker image. Not your fault. Just platform problems. i haven't seen the original Dreamspinner skies (yet). Is this a Photoshop change, or a Bryce (or other software) change? Please lighten it a bit and pop up the contrast so we can see better. i'm always interested in a good night sky. BTW, i found this sweet little program that generates great interplanetary space-type skies, called (appropriately) Universe, at Diard Software. It's shareware and not very expensive. --NanThread: Fixed Victoria Head Seam in Free Stuff | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Coming in late here-- How does the head seam guide work? i figure we match the colored bits front & back. What about the eyelashes and so forth? Is there particular significance to the red areas on the eyes (well, they're the back of the eyeballs?) and around the base of the nostrils? And my thanks for your hard work, too! What a monster this must have been! --Nan
Thread: Clothes Painter 3D | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Dear Rachel, Nesterenko is on the money about Painter 3D. i got a sample version with my upgrade to RDS5.5 last year, and i hate it just as much as regular old Painter for 2D. How the heck does that program work?! Anyhow, you don't really want to make clothes by painting them on your figures, unless you just want to make unitards. :^) And learning how to deal with meshes in RDS is, er, scary. 3D modelers tend to have steep learning curves. i am still reading books & poking at models. The Mesh Form Modeler takes some getting used to (and i'm not used to it, either!). Try opening up the .obj for a clothes object in RDS and see what it looks like. Then poke at it. Start by modifying something already made, like some of the basic P4 clothes. The allegedly simpler consumer-oriented (as opposed to industrial-strength) 3D programs are deceptive: yes, you can easily prod a lump into some colorful form, but they're never accurate or powerful enough to really do the job. Don't be discouraged, just take it little bites at a time & be persistent. --Nan
Thread: NEED HELP! | Forum: Bryce
i only mention this because i, myself, often need to do the same thing. Ask yourself, where is he? What ocean, and where? What's he doing? How long has he been underwater (if he breathes air), and what's he thinking? If he's in the Caribbean (suggested by the pretty blue water) he might be fooling with fishies hiding in a coral reef. And, what kind of bottom does kelp grow on? A sandy flat bottom or a rocky one? (i don't actually remember seeing any kelp on the coral reefs in the Caribbean, come to think of it.) What kind of fishies go with that plant life? This story business makes it more fun to do, engages the viewer, and helps you figure out details to add. As Bill Fleming says, the real world is imperfect. Add some dirt and cracks and algae and stuff. And a few air bubbles, if he's an air-breather merman. And he looks lonely. He might need a merrow friend or something. Nonetheless, i applaud your effort. And... how do you like the book? i've barely begun to wade through it. --Nan
Thread: New Zygote (DAZ) Hair? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, i got suckered into those 'cause they were cheapies. Mostly, i was desperate because Mike defnitely needs some variety in his 'do. i'm tired of the wedge. Thought perhaps i could mess with the models and create some transparency...in my copious free time. [sigh] --Nan
Thread: Vickie maps | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Zygote's .exe installers put textures in some nested folders inside Poser4/Runtime/Textures, thusly: Poser4/Runtime/Textures/Zygote/Characters/MilWoman/ ...if i recall correctly. Check to see if they're there. Also make sure you opened the correct installer! (i only mention this because it is easy to fat-finger something like a double-click!) Hope you found them! If not, give DAZ3D sales a holler. They've been pretty nice to me so far. i think they are just sales@daz3d.com. --Nan
Thread: Facial Piercings (small image) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ooooh...but there was no link to download when i clicked on the tasty facial piercings. My own nosering with captive bead amethyst would like a Poser friend... Thanks! Nan

Whoa, Germantown is CLOSE to me. And i'm an expatriate McLean-er. If you're from Vienna, you know where that is. Holy cow, are we reaching critical mass? :^D --Nan
