sniff Well, thank goodness Slinger learned more about Opera in 10 minutes than I have in 6 months, and managed to get everything working again. whew If it ain't broke... I usually break it. ;)

umm... I think this was partly my fault. It wouldn't open the forums or galleries for Opera, so I used IE and asked Slinger what was going on. In the process of trying to fix it for Opera... well, you saw the result. It still doesn't work for Opera unless you set it to be seen as Firefox. I need to go crawl under a rock before I break the whole freakin' web. Just one of those days.... lee

hmm.. it seems the block of dynamic IP's used by Earthlink is "blackholed" by the site. I'd have to change ISP's to register. :(
Thread: DROOL ALERT!!! An awesome link to a buttload of furniture freebies!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I spotted several items there that were made by me. As long as the downloads aren't hot-linked to my site, it's not a big deal, but.. if you have made freestuff objects, you might want to sift through some of that. Gee.. first time anything of mine has been swiped. ;)
Thread: Where are the Royo,Boris,Michael,Leonardo Renders ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just to set the record straight, I am not, nor have I ever been a troll. If you had bothered to look at my admittedly small gallery, you would notice I take a lot of care in what I do. Had you bothered to look at my site (in my signature), you would have seen an entire page of Cinema tutorials, and another page of free stuff. Had you checked the Cinema forum, you might have noticed that I have done mini-tutorials on a minute's notice to help out. Sorry if I came out sounding like a know-it-all at any point. I have a tendency to do that, however it's unintentional. But it's clear my presence isn't required here, and I'll post my work elsewhere along with my sometimes unpopular and poorly expressed opinions.

Quote - Mostly they are people who (1) have very few posts, (2) none of which add anything to the community discussions, and (3) haven't posted a single piece of artwork ... or sometimes (4) have posted something that shows them to be wannabes.
Point taken. Just keep in mind some of us don't post every single render we do to the Gallery, because we don't consider it good enough. Some of us are just starting into, or getting back into using Poser. I'll be back when my Gallery is big enough, whatever the minimum is.. lee
Thread: Poser Survey | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, mine was pretty biased. You'd better be ready to beef up the render engine and make a bridge to Cinema. ;) (I'm kidding you.. ) It's nice to see a company that's interested enough to do this.

If Leonardo refers to da Vinci, he never did finish the "postork" on the Mona Lisa. You might say he was the pioneer in using Layers with that one. ;) And did the masters 'cheat'? Sure they did: forced perspective, farmed out the dull stuff to apprentices, plaster molds. Whatever it takes to get the image the way you want it is what you need to do. But you might want to take a peek over at CGTalk, where some brave artists take on the masters and come pret-ty darned close. ZhangYang84's Lady of Shallot (by Waterhouse) http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=121&t=450726 Rod Seffen's The Milkmaid (by Vermeer) http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=121&t=392228 Poswork is not good or bad, just another tool in the process.
Thread: I do not want to make of polemic because, | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Anything that mentions names, or is a complaint should, of course he handled by contacting a moderator by site mail or email, in private. It's a situation that should be handled by the staff. We don't want anyone's feelings hurt, this artist, or artists who feel this is a standard they should try to achieve.

netseawolf, the close-ups you posted are definitely photos. There are things in there not even a Renderotica pro could model. Now, you sure you don't want us all to go comment on the image you posted? (I'm teasing.)

If nothing else, you've discovered how to get 1 million comments on an image. ;) Nicely done, by the way!
Thread: I do not want to make of polemic because, | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, it certainly made me feel like a mook, and I do the rendering, clothing, and a lot of morphs in Cinema. Until I see a wireframe, I think netseawolf is right. I've never seen photorealism like this, even at CGTalk, posted at this speed. mickmca brings up a question: If I do so much work in Cinema, is it better to post in Cinema, or in Poser... ??? Probably Cinema, but I'd like the feedback from people here...

I've been out of Poser for so long (P5) that this fooled me, too. Only after getting P7 and looking at what can be done, and what is being posted, do I see what netseawolf is talking about. The work is very good, but it would be just as good posted in the appropriate gallery, and wouldn't make everyone else think they've missed something very basic in posing, texturing and lighting. The shoulders, knees, elbows, soft tissue deformations... no one else gets any Poser figure to look like that, and there are some real pros here. (OT: I'm really happy with all the new characters from P6 & P7 and the new DAZ creations. Things have really moved along here! Glad to be back.)
Thread: Areola on texture map grows with breast size | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
And I thought it was just me who thought this "spread" was just wrong. It seems to be more noticeable with V4. I can see why they create the textures this way: it gives a smoother transition between the breast and nipple textures. The harsher transition is a heck of a lot easier to fix, though. "Size of a truck tire" .. LOL That made my day!
