It's taken with a digital camera. And I have tried that with the above, but didn't get it to look "right" The two in the gallery are not edited much either, but they have deeper color tones, - so they look better, I think. Britt

:) You guys are so nice to me! Antoonio I'll see if I can post a larger version on our server, - and send you the url to it. :) And as for me goting to Finland! I wish! But even living that close to you guys for most of my life has never brought me over those borders.! A shame is what it is. However, - I suspect that the kids would stump their feet and yell REALLY loud if I went to Finland this summer and not to visit with them! lol JordyArt :) In a "way" I felt like you in the Louvre. Yet, there were definately pieces of art that facsinated me to no end. I just wished I had had more time there (without the hordes of tourists... g Hey... I'm not a tourist. I'm ... uhm... I'm... :) I really do hope that we'll get to go to Russia. If we do, we'll go with a native, - married to an American. She still has her appartment in Moscow, - and I think that will be the neatest way to visit for the first time. That's how I like to travel :) Britt

I've gone back to these a LOT of times today. And I've read some of the responses, - about the composition, - escpecially of the picture #2. Frankly... your first picture shows a beautiful!!!! sunset. But the nature has the composition of it. Not you. Does that make any sense??? Your second picture is excellent! In my mind. No, - you're not cutting the picture in "two" with the horizon. Maybe if you use a ruler, - it would show that it's very close to the "center". But the pink tones makes the whole difference, - also composition and layout-wise. The pink visually draws the sea "up-wards" so that it apeears larger than the sky. And Oh, - my that wave was just "smack" where it needed to be! Very nice! Very, very nice! :) Britt

slapping my forehead bloodsong! It didn't even occur to me to look at the dials! hoping nobody notices how hard I'm banging my head on the keyboard Oh, man! Do I feel stoopid!! However! I couldn't find any "little boxes" to write values in! But oh... my. Did you make my world a LOT simpler! lol I couldn't for the LIFE of me understand what the manual meant! Because it said "the editing tools". And when you check out that definition you are shown the little buttons over your image.... Oh.... Oh... man... Thanks! Britt

No, I don't use the dials, I use the editing tools, - "scale", "twist", "rotate". It makes it easy to position or move the circles that represent the fall-off-zones. But it isn't a very accurate way. I don't seem to find where the exact figures for them are. I've done a search in the cr2 files for zones... when I search for "zone" it finds "smoothZones". I suspect they are not the same as the fall-off-zones, - are they?? Britt
Thread: Hi y'all - new here! | Forum: Photography
Very good first try! :) Welcome here! This is a great plase to hang out! Yes, I think you're right about the macro use. Also, What I do is that I always shoot with the max quality. That leaves me a lot less storing capacity, - but then again it gives me a lot more to "work with" when I'm back home, - photoshopping. In my example below, - the virgin and child, the original file size is almost 3 mg's. The one I posted here is taken down in picture quality (and size), - for faster loading. I still have the original jpg (My Sony's native file format), - but I have a "better" original, saved as a .tiff file. If you use a jpg and save, - open it again, - edit, - save etc... you will end up with a very poor quality. So keep your originals as tiffs. Good shooting, - and congratulations with your new camera! :) Britt

Thank you, Syyd! To be honest I was a bit surprised with the outcome, - after all the large church is pretty dark, - but the statue was close to a window, - and there was light coming through that. So I took a chance. :) It was a sunny day too, - so I think that helped a lot for the light. And I'm the one who should tank you and Alpha. You two are doing such a great job with this forum! Britt

nplus... so you want to go to Norway, hmm??? :) Lots of stuff to take pictures of, that's for sure! I think that the digi can's are still in their infancy technologywise. I started out with the first Casios that came on the market. Horrible, horrible. lol So the Sony is a big step forward. I still miss my old Pentax though... and Santa must have thought I'd been bad or sumphin. Because I didn't get one! Britt
Thread: converter | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser will convert the file when you apply the bump-map. You'll get a question if it should convert.. and then just select "yes" Britt

In Amapi 6 you choose wether to work with NURBS or not. NURBS isn't the "default" state. If I'm correct, - that was also the case in the free 4.15 version. But I think Brycetech prolly is better to answer that one. :) Britt
