Geez, you guys all have famous relatives! Mine were all regular people, farmers, etc. Although I have some relatives who founded the town of Rowley, Massachusetts. The rest were German or English immigrants who mostly came to America in the early 18th century or late 17th century. Not famous, but have been here since the beginning and fought in the American Revolution (Go Patriots!)
Thread: It's all so primitive | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been working with Poser for about the last couple of years. When I first started, I was so overwhelmed that all I did was manage to twist Dork's head around like on The Exorcist, at which point I put Poser away for about six months. When I opened it back up, I was determined to learn it. Somehow I managed to find Renderosity and Daz, which lead to other sites. Slowly, by reading others' posts and asking questions, I figured out enough to make a basic scene. I then got brave, got UV Mapper and found tutorials on doing textures. I'm not a fabulous texture maker, but I'm good enough to do some basic stuff, and getting better.
I still don't know a lot about lights, so I use premade lighting; I'm not very good with posing, so I use a lot of premade poses too. I've even recently delved into modeling. It's something that takes a lot of patience and practice. I can make a few basic things and am getting a better understanding of that too.
My point is that even though I have gone through a huge learning curve and taken a few years to figure out what I do know, I think the actual process of figuring all of this out has made me understand it all better. Yeah, it would be nice if there were an easier, faster way to do some of this, but I don't mind the way it is now - it's confusing, but once the light goes on, then there is no stopping you. I'm mediocre at it at best, but I am "having fun", and since it's just a hobby to me, that's the important part.

I'm with genny, I have P5, but haven't actually played with it a lot (I'm intimidated)so I keep using PP.

Thanks for trying to help, Ynsaen, but I never was able to upload the files. It kept timing out and then saying "page not found". I think I've found a work around. Instead of trying to use it as a morph target, I just made it into a whole new conforming item with Quick Conform.

I can't seem to get this to work. I created my morphs, exported it as an object file. Then I brought up the original garment in CR2editor, saved it with a different name, and tried to loading it in Poser - I got nothing - blank. Then I tried loading the original garment, then clicked on "load morph target", selected the object file morph I created, and it didn't load it - in fact, the window for selecting the morph target stayed up and didn't close. What am I doing wrong? Thanks...

This was a sweet deal! Thank you Daz! I got the Greek Bath and Greek Bath textures with my coupons.

Huh?! When you have to explain a joke in that much detail, any comedy value it might have had is most certainly long gone....;-) (tee, hee, hee)
Thread: getting/commissioning custom props? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Absolutely, Logan! Play with the program, LEARN the commands (they are actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it) and then make your swords! If I can manage to make a few simple props and a spacesuit for Koshini, then you can certainly learn to make swords! Good luck!

I don't think so. It seems to come with its own texture maps. I've apparently got a voucher for the upgrade, but haven't purchased it yet.
